It's about pl@y

What a two year old do at home ? play play play..

I'v sorted out my anger management. i found way to sooth my anger and that has calm my girl's misbahving too. instead of being hard on her.. i use softer method, which works.. 90% now.. so, i've been qute satisfied with my 'terrible-two' management now.

and she listens more to me this way and she will say sorry whenever i tell her im angry..all verbally.. no more struggling..forcing..heee

Sunday, i dig out some of missy's old clothes, thinking, hey, i can set aside some for her to play dressing up.. so.. here she is in her old dress 9still can fit) and my shoes.. missy like a grown up !

Today, before going to school we do some drawing on her easel. she wants me to draw up the xmas tree with hanging stars.. after im done, she draw something and tell me "mummy, banana".. ohh.. it looks like banana indeed. not bad this little girl.

So, i coloured it in yellow,

so, i can see her scribbling has become moe meaningful. she will draw zigzag lines and tell me "mummy, zigzag"..clever girl !

oh.. she always say "clever girl" whenever we can answer her question, cos we have been saying that to her.. she even said her father clever girl or "cute-cute" OMG.. how a toddler pick up words from us..

My company has also cease the free access to the pool. so timing is just right i guess

the photo taken in the beginning of my third trimester is not much different from the last photo taken during my mid 2nd trimester.. only thing i can spot is that the tummy is going higher.. i cant eat too much at one go now.. more smaller meals..

Missy enjoying herself at children's playground.. she even fight with a boy for the car.. shake head.

Steam Chocolate Cake

I've got this recipe for abt 2 weeks, finally i made it today. but i only did the cake, the fudge got to wait, as i need to make sure the cake is good before i proceed with the fudge.

It was so surprisingly good , chocolaty. eventhough i use only cocoa powder and not actual chocolate. and it's steam.much healthier than bake.

Ingredients:
150 g unsalted butter (i use salted butter)
140g brown sugar
200 ml milk ( actual recipe is to use evaporated milk)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
140g self-raising floor (or 125 g plain flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder +1/2 tsp baking soda, i dun have soda and i have last bit of self raising flour, so i use all of it)
70g cocoa powder (i use van houton brand)
1/2 tsp vanila essence

Method:
1. combine sugar, milk, vanila essence and butter in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved and butter has melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add the beaten eggs into the slightly cooled mixture and stir till well mixed
3. sift the flour, cocoa powder into a large mixing bowl. Add th eggs mixture over the flour and stir till smooth
(batter is a bit lumpy)
4. put in steamer and steam for 40 minutes

Shall put the chocolate fudge recipe after i made it successfully.

Yummy.

Diaper-free@26 months old

I'm produ to say that, we have been toilet training missy since she is 18th month old. and now we see the result.

She is now diaper fre at home and at school, except nap/sleeping time.that's a very encouraging achievement for mm.. the parents.. haaaa..

shall record when she is totally diaper free...

more sushi

Today tried our the different version of the sushi... i use salmon 9steam , mashed and add mayonaise), japanese cucumber, crab sticks.. i tried to warp the inverted method.. not eacy.. but still look fine. the harder part is to cut it.. cos the rice will stick on the knife.

this round, i find my rie not good. cos i use the lazy method to prepare the vinegar. sob. so in order to prepare good sushi rice, must be hardworking like japanese.. hee

Cranberry walnut bread

This week, i baked 4 loaves of dried cranberry walnut bread.. simply love it. i use the milk loaf recipe, but add in the dried cranberry (MIL brought this back from SF, i kept in fridge since, dunno what to do with it) and walnut (i love the crunchy nutty feling).. and it turn out soo good. fluffy and nice.

and we had our crossaint breakfast with tuna on Monday. now, we have fruits in the morning. hearty and healthy breakfast.

this week, teach maid to bake egg tart as she seems to like this. so we have some egg tarts on Friday and i again make some sushi, using tuna this time. not bad too. shall try using salmon the next round.

HFMD 2

ok..After my last post on little missy's HFMD, we have had the worst week this week. starting from Monday, she was left at home under the care of maid and her grandpa while we continue to go to work, she appear fine in the morning, she still drink her milk before i left to work.her last feed was 9am.. after that she did not take in anymore food , not even fluid.

when i came back, i was told that she keep complaining pain inside her mouth, crying and refuse any form of food. i was angry. what the hell are the "adult" doing at home ?? cant they try some way to feed her some water or something? they din even call me, just keep carrying her and sooth her.. but never try ways and means to feed her something. well.. what should i expect right ? i smsed LGG, he said try some yogult ot vitagen. so i let missy choose, she shoose yogult. then slowly slowly she finished the whole bottle of yogurt and almost one bottle of her water, which i feed her using cup. *relief*

then, the whole night she is crying on and off, refusing milk/water. obviously, i didn sleep the whole night trying to sooth her.

ok. cant work this way. SOS my dera mum. she is coming over the next day. mum came in, my SAVER ! i went to work as usual. mum manage to get her to drink but by bit using straw , force feed actually, to keep her from dehydration. It's such a pain to see our child suffer, her ulcer inside her mouth started to form and even on the tip of her tongue. the blisters on her fet and buttock and hand started to appear.

Mum gave her some "shi gua suang" and "zhen zhu fen".. force feed. then use all tricks to get her drink. missy is still not feeling well, she keep clinging on mum. so mum decided to stay overnight. we feed her vitagen , then she even finish her whole package of cheese buscuit, we tot at least she eats something, dun care what. we thought, maybe the coolness of the vitage/yogurt sooth her ulcers and numb it awhile, so missy can start drinking. after awhile she refuse any food again.

At night, when she cry, we use straw to feed her water, she complaint but at least she go to sleep after some moisture in her mouth, else her lips are cracking, too dry.

On wednesday. things seem to be much better, mum manage to get missy to eat soem porridge, she drinks more water. and mum went home in the evening. LGG and i attend to her at night. she drinks her milk that night. * RELIEF *

after 3 nights of not enough sleep at night, i really dunno what am i doing at work.. haaa.. when boss talk to me, my head is blank.. dunno what he said. paiseh.

Then, thursday. she is all normal-self. i still can see some ulcer on the side of her tongue, but inside her mouth, the red spots have gone. phew.. her blisters on fet/hands/buttock are drying up.

This is the most scariest viral infection. children are suffering so much and parents too, I really hope this never happen again.

Stupid childcare .. if i have choice, i wont put my child in cc but do i have a choice now ? sigh. my poor missy.

still have ulcer on missy's tongue and the clister on her foot are drying up

normal-self missy, tryng to imitae her pig to make the nose.. some similaries ? muahha. she is born in pig year, of course alike..

HFMD

Missy's mouth's little red dots turned into small ulcer on sat. but no sign of blisters or whatsoever until today evening.. her feet started to have red dots..some looks like blister.. and her tongue has one small ulcer too. she is complaining by pointing inside her mouth and cry.

She still drinking her milk today. but she refuse her rice for dinner, manage to get her to drink few scoops of soup only. Worrying.

Ok, this is the trend with missy. LAst Thurday (12th Nov), she had her fever, which doc diagnose as normal viral infection with some running nose and cough. her fever recovers on Friday afternoon 9her last medicine was 1230noon). no fever since. but, she still has slight cough, her voice a bit coarse for a week.

Friday afternon, after her nap in school teacher noticed little read dots on her mouth (inside uppper jaw) during their routine health check, which through their experience, this was HFMD's symptoms.

So, we brought her back, she appears normal. no complain. we brought her to see doctor on Sat morning. doc said no obvious symptoms to say she has HFMD. ask us to monitor for next 3-4 days.

So, true enough, Sunday (today), her blisters popping out and she starts to complain. we noticed the red mark on her feet on sat night, maybe these blister pop up on cold day ? maid's said dun expose her to wind or cold water.she said her sister had similar thing too last time.

mm.. shall see how it goes, doctor said no medicine for HFMD, just have to let it runs its course. i apply the wintermelon chinese herb for her mouth's ulcer. and apply soem aquous cream on her feet/hand blister.

really helples and heartache to see little missy suffers from all these viruses. Hope her body fight well with them. I let her continue her vit C & daily apple juice.

She has to home rest form 2 weeks. again, we are paying the childcare but stay at home most of the time.

Hope she will recover soon, no fever and all.

This week's bulging

i feel a bit heavu now..the tummy is like gorw somuch in just one week's time. picture proved it.

Missy

is so curious why LGG is taking picture of my tummy and keep lifting her own shirt up like me.. so tt's how the fourth photo came about. cutey!

Sushi making

I finally made it. My first sushi making. Yipee..

Bought the ingredients last week, short grain rice, rice vinegar, wasabi, seaweed sheet (Nori), crab stick, japanese cucumber and of course some step-by-step print out..

I find the rice not sour enough, next time shall add inmore vinegar (i followed the instruction of adding 5 tbsp rice vinegar +5 tsp sugar+1 tsp salt, then heat with low heat, leave cool before adding to 400g of cooked short grain rice)

LGG is better in roling the mat than me.so, i did two rolls, he did the rest, including slicing the rolls. little missy cant help but help to eat up my egg filling. she has her fair share too, which she only eat the filling but leave the seaweed out.

Satisfied. Shall make more sushi in time to come. our breakfast has more and more choices now.

Bluerry Cake with Crunchy Topping-minus the blueberry

Saturday evening, i baked the bluerry cake with crunchy topping:

ingredients:
130g unsalted butter
130g caster sugar - reduce to 100g
2 eggs
250g self-raising flour-sifted
250g blueberries - 2 packets (i omit this, cos the last time i add this, but eneded up the cake is a bit sour)

Crunchy topping:
130f plian flour
100g brown sugar
100g butter, chopped
100g chopped macadamia nuts 9finish all my macadamia nuts, replaced with walnut)

Method:
1. Grease and line a baking tine and pre-heat oven to 180deg -my oven needsnot pre-heat
2. First make the topping by rubbing the plain flour, butter and brown sugar together in a bowl unti it resembles coarse breadcrumbs, then add chopped nuts. set aside
3. For the cake, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
4. Add the edds one at a time, beating to mix them in. Continue beatinf while adding the sifted flour and the milk a little at a time- the mixture looks like a thick batter
5. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared baking tin and sprinkle the blueberries on top
6. Tnen sprinkler the crunchy topping evenly over the blueberries
7. Bake in the oven for about 50 mins until the chopstick inserted into the mixture comes out clean -i bake 5 mins

Verdict:
The cake is so light and fluffy and the topping is so crunchy and aromatic with the brown sugar. Thumbs up. Next time i will add in cocoa powdewr to make it chocolate cake. LGG loves it. Maid too.

HFMD ?

today teacher found some litle tiny red dots inside missy's upper jaw. it's little red dots which they suspect is symptoms for HFMD. so we brough her home and observe her.

Tmw got to bring her to doc to confirm. for chinese med, they just say this is heaty. for western doc, they will just prescribe some antibiotics. nothing much they can do, as it will heal by itself. hopefully missy's red dots wont turn into ugly ulcer.. else she will have problem feeding. tt's what happened to one of her SM's classmate.

So, we have been seeing doctor on weekly basis now. from quarterly to monthly now weekly. faint.busy parents and poor missy.

She is still ok. can eat/drink. appear normal. so shall see tmw how.Today while accompanying me to see gyane, manage to snap her photos in front of some Xmas deco.
she just refuse to look at camera.

puzzle me

Missy never seem to show interest in puzzle pieces.. i started with 2 pieces puzzl with her long after she started Shichida.. but she just refuse to join me.

last week, during her sick leave at home, she suddenly bring out her 2-piece puzzle and put all correctly. I was deeply surpised and beaming ! wow.. so she actually observe what i've been showing her.. now she just did it all by herself.. she is ready.. haa

this encourage me to get more pieces puzzle for her.tollder never stops surprising their parents.

Baking : Banana Walnut Cake

i bake banana walnut cake again. love banana.. yummy.. but find it a bit sweet.

This week i baked one loaf of oat bread and one wholemeal bread. clear my wholemeal flour..

wanna make sushi. muahaha..bought all the ingredients. just waiting for right time to roll...

Im 10kg heavier now..

I knew it. just the past 2 weeks, i felt my tummy just grow so fast and now it's so obvious. no one will think im just fat now...

Im 4kg more than 4 weeks ago.. and now, my weight is 10kg from before 2nd pregnancy. my little tyke is now 1079g (around 1kg) and he is head down already.. so chances that i can go natural again this rime. *finger cross*

wow.. im 26 weeks now..i checked the scan film for missy, when i was 26 weeks in 2007, she weighed at 1.2kg.sigh. got to control what i eat ..reduce sugar/fat..i only have 3 months plus to go.. really dun want to gain too much again..

gyane said no need to do glucose test cos my urine test is normal. BP is normal. hopefully smooth sailing till bb is born.

Happy carying my bump !

@ home

while missy is down with flu last thur/Fri, i took leave at home with her.. what did we do ? nothing much, just idle and taking lots of photos and videos.. haaa don't we just adore our little one's little toes and fingers? so cute. i always smell her little toes.. heee..so tiny and cute.

missy and her twinkle twinkle little stars

Virus attacking

Going to childcare at tender age means we are exposing missy to viruses that her young body is learning to fight and sometimes failed.

So, Missy has been down with flu and fevere in August (first month in childcare), September (the worst, missy has cough and phlegm for the very first time), then November (fever+slight running nose and cough, which cause her to vomit when she is unable to spit the phlegm out) her fever can go to 38.7 deg we are so worried. But, lucky thing after the medicine, she is back to normal.

Look at her, fever on thursday, and on friday, she is jumping up and down..poor girl that she has to go through these. and at the same time, more molar teeth are poping out. i spotted two on her lower right jaw and one right.

shoo shoo. go away all viruses.. keep my missy healthy and strong at all time !

One more incident last week, it was all my fault, we were eating selar fish, those nasi lemak fish. which we fried. i thought, it's ok to give missy instead of her usual salmon/cod/thread.. must have some variety right ? and what happened ?? i was so careless and never thought of the fish bones.. selar has very small bones, which i overlooked, missy was choked on the bone on my second feed. we brought her to KKH , did xray and lucky thing, the bone was out i guess, cos cannot be detected. it was after missy cough so hard and she spit some saliva which has blood strips.. doc said the bone could have been coughed out or just being swallowed down. as xray cant detect the bone and missy is feeding and normal.

sigh. so, got to be very careful. even with salmon, must be checked. i got a shock of my life as i feel this could be prevented 100%. my carelessness causes discomfort to my child and worst if it turned out serious.

Pheww..i MUST practise cautiouness when feeding my child esp fish. any fish.

Busy Missy

Weekend, i let missy revisit one of our weekend activities --collage. she is now good at applying glue.. so it's easier to do the collage compare to last time when she just take and paste. Now, she will apply glue on the figure, then take the torn pieces and paste it on the figure.. Well done ! but still her interest did not last long..

Today, one of the "Parental Involvement" activity given by childcare is to do something creative with our child with the given circle 9small/medium/big in sizes).. so i just came out with these three

missy helps to apply glue and i assist her to paste on the cardboard to came out with caterpillar, snowman and mickey mouse. missy helps to paste the snow on snowman and she pasted sticker on all their eyes..

i wonder why the school cant give us coloured circles.. it'll be nicer and clearer. the photocopy circle so grey in colour. mm.. talking abt how much you pay and how much you get. haaa..

Happy learning !

Belly up

my tummy is enlarging.. i wanted to keep track of the speed it grows.. hee.. so first two photos were taken just after my first trimester. then last weekend, into my 6th months, took some more.. so.. can really see.. it's not only tummy is protruding.. my backside also widening.. sigh.

I have been swimming once a week since. so, my arms and legs are not that flabby yet. i remembered when carrying Missy, my thighs rub each other whenever i wear skirt/dress.. scary !

Eventhough i exercise this round, but my appetite is so scary. i can eat non stop and still eat..mm.. and i find lots of hair drop. Last time, my hair was shiny and thick during pregnancy. so i can start to spot some difference now.

seeing gynae this Friday, shall find out how my little tyke is doing :) so looking forward to meet him again.

Pancake for Breakfast

I have tried using the ready-mix pancake flour, which is good. then i have tried another recipe which is tasteless.. finally i found the recipe that i want !

pick this from HHM's blog, which she also picked from Joyofbaking.com. We love it !

Recipe:
140g plain flour
7g baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
28g sugar (i use castor sugar)
1 egg, lightly beaten
240ml milk
28g butter (healthier version, can use unsalted butter), melted

plus extra melted butter for pan.

Methods:

1. whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
2. whisk together egg, milk and melted butter in another bowl
3. add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, all at once and stir until just combined.
4. the batter should have some small lumps. do not overmix or the pancake will be tough
5. heat the frying pan , brush with a little melted butter
6. pour 1/4 cup batter onto the pan, when the bottom of the pancake is brown and bubbles start to appear on top surface, turn over
7. cook until lightly brown.

I use the pancake pan which is a frog. but it turn out to be bear-liked. haaa.

yummy sat morning breakfast , i eat with jam and some marjerin, maid eat with honey. we all give a thumb up for this recipe.

Shall do it whenever i have the time on non-working morning. Love it !

ST: Good Kid, Bad Kid

Good article from Mind your body today.

Some extract from the article:

Children are inherently innocent, psychiatrists and psychologist believe.

New born to 3 years old: The value system of care comes first

Children below 3 yo understand basic messages like "mummy is mad" or "I should stop this behaviour" However, they do not posses higher order thinking skills like taking on another person's point of view or the ability to solve a problem. They tend to imitate parents, as role-modelling acceptable bahaviours is of utmost important during these years.

4 to 6 years old: They will test the limits and you need to remind them what the boundaries are.

They start to interact more with others, inclduing their peers and they begin to understand and test moral and socially accepted rules and values.

7 to 9 years old:
children are more socially aware abd understand the basic rights of others as well as social mores.

nature vs Nurture:
While a child's environment is important in shaping his moral compass, henes play a part too.

mmm.. shall keep this as general reference.

Second bundle of Joy

I still think the first child is the one who gets most things from parents, including love and attention. why did i say so ?

well.. i spend lesser time appreciating my second pregnancy compare to first. cos i already know what's coming in each semester. so any symptoms, i will just brush it off as, it's normal cos last time also like that.

I spend lesser time doing music therapy with second baby, reason being, missy is always around, and she cant see me with different gadget, if i put the ear phone on my tummy, she will climb right up.. so i try to play the music only at night for bb no.2. but i always doze off after missy sleeps. till now, i did less than 5 times of music listening to no.2

yes, i call him no.2 not pevious one.. somehow, missy stands a very important part in my heart already haaa. bad huh. it's like she is your first child, you give all your love/attention to her already, how much is left for the next bb ?

i din shop that much for bb no.2 cos i can reuse most of it until 6 months old. but, i feel paiseh la, he is also new bb, so i bought some good quality clothing from baby Gap the other day, not forgetting to buy some for my missy too. so both also get.still, it's not for no.2 only. last time everthing is for missy. Moreover, bb boy has lesser clothing to buy, all looks the same, shirt/pants .. missy is different, i buy till i have to control myself.. haaaa.

I din have that much of anticipation for no.2 arrival. cos i somehow anticipate more to "no sleeps, no rest, crying" nights to come. and those post natal activities like massage/confinment.. then childcare for no.2..blahhh..last time mum is ready to help me. now, i've got to settle most of the things on my own, like get a nanny etc.

So, i hope i will give enough love to both my children when he arrives. how our mother did that last time ? amazing. so, i've concluded, i can have the most two child. cos with LG=Missy+ no.2 my loves and attentions bucket will be emptied out liao.. not enough for more...

why am i so free these days ? working from home is like that.. you have time to do nonsence.. inclduing blogging muahahhaa.. now office blog all bloggings.. so super sian. what a working life with just work.

Missy reads her mummy

This morning, before going to school, i will usually make sure Missy poo so that she wont mess up in school and can leave her butt dry.

Today, after we brush teeth, she pee and i ask her whether she wanna sit on the potty to poo. she said "dont' want, no poo poo" so, i thought ok la, maybe she really dun have anything to poo yet. maybe go to school then poo.

But, after we change into her school uniform and im about to feed her vitamin C, she give me this look, the "Pang sai" look, i then ask her again " If wanna poo poo, please go to toilet, dun soil your diaper, i just change ok" she keep in silence, then i ask her again " wanna go poo poo ? go toilet ?" she said "no"
.I think im not being proactiv.. i just let her be while im calling her to come over to take her vitamin..

true enough.. she just stand there , stone. i knew it. she poo le. ARRRRGgggg.. din she listen to what i just asked her just now ? i ask few times .. again, i feel my anger is rushing.. but i keep cool, ask maid to clean her up. then i tell her.. "din i just tell u to go toilet if wanna poo ? i just said it, and you just poo it right there.. ok fine," i then go into study room.

Missy tell maid that "Mummy is angry" .. i heard from study room. Maid said "yes, you go toilet to poo poo".. then aftr she is being washed, she walk to my study room, standing outside the door, i then close the door. she cry immediately.. mm.. im thinking, gees.. why did i do that ? im so rude hor..then maid bring her to change.

After she is done, still with tears.. she then came to me, try to approach me. i ask her if she want to take her vitamin C, she nod. Then, we are about to go to school while wearing her shoes, she keep looking at me, i did not look at her. She then said " sorry mummy"... geees.. my heart melted.. so i said "come here, give me one hug" she came rushing to me and hug me.. i told her again "poo poo must go toilet ok ".. she then said "ok"

My girl is growing up didn't she ? she knows when im angry and she knows how to "dissolve" my anger.. sigh.. i think good and bad ? good is that she knows when she did something her mummy dun like her mummy will angry. bad is that why her mummy always angry ? will she be like that too nxt time ?

Tell me what to do.. im handling a small little human being that is ready to be mould into something she will pick up and learn quick from where she grows up.

sometimes i think my bad temper is from my mum, she too has very bad temper.. i always she her scolding us and my father during schooling time.. cos she always complaint we did not help up at home. But, still she has never fail to prepare our daily needs and 3 meals.. i guess just a way to vent all her frustration from work and life and three kids.

really not easy to be a good mummy. but i guess i'll just play it cool. try to adjust and improve as each day comes. challenging duty. i still think working is easier.. haaaa..

Anger Management

I've been losing it recently.. i shouted till my voice coarse..i've been rough on her by pulling her hand hard to make her walk or do things i want her to do.. so it ended with crying/screaming.. i hate it.. but i cant control it when at that very moment, my anger just rush up and missy's reluctance to obey drive me up the wall..

I know i've got to change this and control my anger.. sometimes, im thinking so what if she refuse to brush her teeth.so what if she refuse to bath, so what if she refuse to change her clothes.. so what if she blahhh....list goes on. let her be lor..

But, i try to make sure she has discipline over this daily routine, not when she said "NO" then i let her be. right ? i'm kinda confuse .. not sure what type of parenting im suppose to adopt.. stern ? firm ? then it ended up im "forcing" her to do things.. she at this stage is everything "NO" we have to spend so much time and effort to coax her into doing small things like bathing.. she will be refusing to let us take out her clothes.. even after we manage to take out her clothes she will lie naked on floor, refuse to enter the bath room.. i feel like pulling a stubborn little donkey into the bath room.. sigh... really testing my patience..

Then, yest again, she just pee on the sofa . I was very angry, as she already know she should go toilet for peeing.. but yest she did it twice while her pants is still on. and did it right on the sofa just beside me.. i was piss off.. then she refuse to let maid and LGG to take off her short to wash up.. she just shout and scream.. vey dramatic again.. so when i go to the toilet, i'm just losing it again, i just strip her off, pour the water on her.. the water should be cold.. then drag her out of the toilet to her room to wipe dry. i was shouting at her to tell her, she is wasting my time, she is making thinsg difficult, i cant stand her anymore. she just stand there and cry..

After all the cleaning up, LGG ask her to apologise. she then lie on her bed and cry and keep saying,"sorry mummy, sorry mummy" that somhow soften my heart.. then i gave her a hug, and she is ok again.

but, what am i "teaching" her in this lesson ?? my intention is, if you are not listening to mummy, mummy will be angry, and mummy will be shouting and being rough to you ??

Im confuse...confuse and hate myself for being not able to control my anger.. and hate myself for not being gentle to her. i lover her so much that i try to protect her with all i might.. but why at that spur of the moment,, i cant do so rough to her like pour cold water on her and pull her hard?? i felt heartache..

but, if i go soft on her. will she climb on my head ? how am i going to discipline her ?i always tell LGG< we should not put our hand on her.. meaning no spanking.. cos we adult's strength is unbelieveable to a child so fragile like missy.

I shall improve on this.. i will use other method rather than tempering like smal kid.. hope my action wont have bad impact to her.. i was telling LGG< she shout and scream when we refuse to let her get what she wants. LGG said, must be cos we also shout at her when she refuse to do what we want ?? left me ponder..

Today

Due to company testing out the BCP, i choose to work from home this week. lalala. so this morning,i don't have to get up so early.. bring missy to school as usual, then take my own sweet time to eat my brakfast.. surf net for bb's new clothes at gap/old navy. some mummies organising, so i tag along.

Missy , cutey cutey. taken while we are waiting for lift. she insisted to walk on her own instead of in her pram today.

Happy schooling !

Kite flying Sunday

Jacob Ballas Fun

Today we went to JBCG again, our third visit.Missy is older now to understand and appreciate most of the things in JBCG like the plants/spices in the garden.

Missy with some of the plants, such a big lady's fingers..

This time, missy sit on the slide all by herself, first time, her expression is a bit "nervous" but second time, she is enjoying it.. haaa

This time, we spend some time at the sand play area, missy is digging and digging .. soft sand.

Of course, we end our JBCG day out with water playing.. just nice to wash away all the sand from her.. which not much pictures were taken cos im playing with her and LGG's camera ran out of battery.

After the play and wash up, we had our small picnic at the park, today no black swan, wonder where they've gone to. We had my homemade sandwiches and fruits, then we stroll awhile in the park and head home. Missy doze of in the car after her feed of milk. heee..

Another fun day at JBCG for missy. hopefully next time we can bring her didi along..tt'll be next year at least september..

Pre-natal exercise-Swimming

In order not to repeat my previous prenancy "extreme" weigh gain, i gained 17kg altogether and still left with 3kg after that.i decided to do some low impact exercise. I wanted to do prenatal yoga initially, but im thking sometimes i do yoga will cause me to have backache, what happen if i feel worst if i do it now. so better not take the risk.

so, i turn to swimming. mm.. not bad. i swam last week, i feel really good. i can swim 6 laps and more. but i control myself. Then this week, i went again, i swim 10laps altogether. After the swim, i feel my weight is slightly shifted to my tummy.. as in maybe i swim breaststroke, so after 10 laps..i feel a bit of back strain.

so, this is what i found on website:
This is what i found from website:
http://www.pregnancy-calendars.net/swimming.aspx#
Breast stroke during the last trimester is possibly going to be the most beneficial to you. The reason for this is because it gives a good workout to your chest and back muscles, which are the two areas most out of alignment during your pregnancy.

another website :http://www.babycenter.com.sg/pregnancy/fitness/swimming/#

Choose a stroke which feels comfortable for you. Alternating breaststroke with floating on your back and gently kicking your legs will give you a good all-round workout. Avoid breaststroke if you have pain in your pubic symphysis joint at the front of your pelvis.

I guess i should alternate with breaststroke and floating next week. but i dun have any backache after that. feel so good after the swim actually.

Gynae said ok to swim, but make sure dun swim alone. haaa. i have gained 5kg now at 21 weeks pregnant. i think this is not so bad. shall keep it up !

bb is now 546g compare to 336g 2 weeks back. tt's fast

Kite flying weekend

Last week, after our marketing from NTUC, we osrt of being tempted by all the kite flying activities opposite the buangkok open fields. so we thought, hey, we can bring missy for some kite flying next weekend, it's an open field, where she can runs abour safely, windy and not hot.

So, we did it today. but that batman kite LGG brought, cant seem to fly at all. gees.. but this is not borthering missy at all, she enjoys her running, playing with other toddlers and see bubbles.. it's basically a kid's playground with adults..

and still i cant believe that batman kite cant fly .. lousy batman.. i suggested LGG to bring the butterfly kite actually, but old kites liao.. so expected la.

Missy been at home with her grandpa for 4 days, next week we r going back to school as the HFMD seems to subside now.. so finger cross, missy can spend whole 5 days healthily there..

Splash Splosh time

We went to Sengkang swimming complex again last week and after swimming, it rained again. each time we go, after we are done, it will rain. weird.

This round, missy is not interested with swimming or getting into the water, she prefers to run around the swimming pool, one by one.. there are altogether 5 pools, including one indoor pool. she has great time still. as she sleeps right after her milk after we reached home.

next week, we shall plan for some outing too. maybe to Zoo ? or JBCG again.

Missy in her school uniform

muahaha.. mushroom head in school uniform. hee.cute.

Read a book

We have been reading to missy before her bedtime for some time. This has become a habit. Usually, her daddy will read to her. recently, daddy reads quite many nights if "Hansel & Gretel" partly cos missy demanded for this book. So, just one fine day, after her school, and bathing, and dinner. we sit at our sofa, and she dig out her Hansel and Gretel book again. she knows the book well by its cover. and she asks me to read to her. instead, i ask her to read it herself. so this is how the video came about.

From her reading, i can see that she can remember the key words in each page. like Hansel and Gretel, Woodcutter, get-up Hansel, Get-up Gretel, go into the wood, mama will come, ok (this is her own line) "hansel and gretel were left in the wood", Go home, the rest is a bit blur, but she is following the story.

maybe i should try to video her when she is rading "Let's go for a bear hunt" her expression at the page "it's a BEAR" is so funny. really look shock. haaa.

New skill -Cutting

I have introduced colouring.. scribbling..playdough (just got one set from toysrus).. then our phonics.. she now can tell me the sound of letters in alphabets.. pick up from leap frog letter factory.. but still mixing up letters sometimes.. On her birthday, she did not go to school cos of the HFMD. so i stayed home with her, and let her try cutting for the very first time, hey, this little hand is not bad, she can cut.. and you know what, i was shocked that , she cut one patch of her fringe when i was away to take something, returned and found her hair all dropping on my laptop. she climbs onto my working desk, and manage to find the scissors im trying to hide away, Lucky thing, she did not cut other part of her body. so really must be careful with these.

she is so interested in cutting.. so i managed to get her engaged for awhile, but with close supervision. now, all scissors are hidden away from her.

besides cutting, we play dough, which is also under close supervision, eventhouigh playdough is made of Wheat and safe. but i dun feel comfortable if she put into her mouth. yeak. with dough, she still cut cut cut..

Montessori - shoes wearing skill

Missy can now wear her own shoes, even those with straps. but sometimes she still wear them on the wrong side. we find it amusing, so video it down.taken on 27th Sept 09.

the father is reminding her of the wrong side of the shoes, but missy just so engrossed in her shoes wearing and ignore the father.. haaa

This is another video where she wears it correctly. and i guess, she knew she got it right this time and jumping excitedly.

Missy new hair style

When missy is not feeling well in September, we reduce the times we bath her, just wiping and no showering. Her long hair is a bit messy.

so, LGG and i decided to cut missy's hair short. LGG just use her normal paper cutting scissors and "ka-cha" shorten my missy's hair to "mushroom" style.. which, we can find many missy's classmates having the same hair style.. so i guess, all home-made la.. heee

she looks so funny but after awhile, we get used to her new look.

Ta-da...

HFMD

Missy been out from school for nearly two weeks in September, due to her flu and school with 6 cases of HFMD. so, we parents paid one whole month of school fees, but child have to stay at home half of the time.

OCtober.. today. 12 oct. school announced 5 more cases of new HFMD . most of them from the toddler class, meaning little missy's classmates. so we decided to protect little missy from the spread. got to keep her at home with grandpa and maid again. sigh.

going to childcare is even more dramatic.. almost every two days one new events.. first month (August) missy hates her school then just when she started to love her school and teachers, she starts to get sick.. then just when she gets well, HFMD cases.. i wonder when then we can really enjoy childcare. sigh.

so, finger cross, missy does not catch the virus from her classmates and will be healthy for the rest of the week till we return to cc , after the cases subsided.

Flu..Fever...Bugss

Missy had fever last Thursday early morning. We rushed down to KK, given flu medicine and she is ok but fever still persistent, so Sat we drop by SK Polyclinic, given flu medicine and she is all ok , no fever, but still have running nose and cough+phlegm till today.

Sent her to childcare like usual, she is happy and cheerful in the morning. But, teacher calledup at 10 plus, saying her temp is 38deg Cels. OMG why ?why ? why ? got me worried and i rushed down in cab to pick her up, she is normal, no crying, just body warm warm. We again rushed down to KK. tested urine, normal. so UTI ruled out. doc said they do not test for H1N1 for children anymore. she checked her throat, said it's red and slight inflame. fever may last till 5days.so we were given 5 days mc. given antibiotics too.headache. how to get missy to swallow the antibiotics ??

so, home again, get her to take the flu medicine, no prob. but expected the funny taste in the antibiotics is not missy's liking. rejected. sigh. got to thk of a way to get her take it.

so, i've been off from work since. how to work like tat ? sigh. why so many bugs around. i now feel sick too. sigh.

Flu flu go away !

Missy goes to school

last month, whenever i ask her, " we go to school ?" she will start crying and keep saying " Dun want school " we basically cannot even mention the word school when talking to her.. tt'll trigger her tear buds..

But, now, when she refuse to get up from bed in the morning after 7am. i will tell her " you want to go to school ?" she will replied " i want go to school" and i will tell her " then u have to get up and brush your teeth " she will obligingly, follow me to toilet to clean up and change and get ready to school.

last month, whenever we are outside of her school she will cry and refuse to get in.

Now, she will smile and happily waiting for me to unbucker her and let her climb down from her pram to walk into her school. I will give her "bonus" by letting her press the door bell. hee..

last time, she refused to let teacher to check her temperature and mouth before entering class.

Now, she let teacher take her temperature and open her mouth happily for teacher to check. she even gives free hugs to teacher and teacher said she is a cheerful girl.

Tt's how my missy adapt herself in a new environment. cute cute. she will greet me "zao an" in the morning when i greet her 'good morning" not bad huh.

Little Missy 2nd Birthday

We have celebrated missy's 2nd birthday at home last Saturday. This round, again, we have our home-cooked food, with sushi, chinese cuisines, my all-time favourite salad and egg tarts and of course, missy's minnie Swenson's ice cream cake. Yum yum. Missy welcome her birthday by singing her Happy birthday songs she picks up from school. she even sings her ABC songs and LGG videod it down. cute. she now still tell me "Happy birthday, blow candles" how she has developed her linguistic skills compare to last year, when she just picked up her walking. time fliesss. My girl is turning two already. Missy now enjoy her childcare, she will climb onto her pram happily in the morning and sometimes sing on the way to her school. and happily walk into her school after hugs and kiss to me. great improvement. The teachers are right. children can adapt after 1 month and tt's exactly what happen. Loads of photos taken for missy but my home Pc cant seem to load the photos. so got to find out the reason first. Sigh. Happy Birthday my little Missy ! Mummy wishes you all the best, good health, Happy days everyday. The love of my life.

Number two

so far, i feel this one may bit a fussy pot for sure. things i eat will have funny reaction sometimes. Sunday i cooked spaghetty and while eating i suddenly feel like vomiting.. and i have to eat slowly and after finishing i still feel like vomiting.

i noticed my appetite has improved a lot but selective food will have such reaction. Last time , this did not happen. and i still have slight morning sickness during morning and evening especially during brushing teeth time. always will trigger puking.

went for my NT scna to detect possibility for DS in August. Percentage is low. so no need to do further test. Finger cross.

Went for Gynae scan this month, cant see bb's gender yet. oh well. im not so curious actually. so long my pregnancy journey is enjoyable and smooth.boy or girl still my child.

so, next appt will be end of this month and then will go for detailed scan in October..all nicely scheduled.

i really think i will just stop at two. no more. i have experienced birth giving, being a mother, being a wife. im very contented le. Second prenancy is to ensure missy has a sibling as company. so, tt's in the pipeline now. tt's all i will "contribute" to my family plan.

After that, im gonna concentrate on bringing my children up. and of course at the same time, enjoy my life. lalalal.. well.. all within my plan that i have sort of drafted years back. family focus (married, giving birth) before 35 yo. after that i shall concentrate on my career or hobby and self-grooming.
