CNY 2010

Today Missy's childcare is going to have a small celebration for cNY. each child is to bring 2 oranges for exchange, we do not buy any mandarine oranges so i substitute ir with oranges instead.. muahahha.. anyway, they don't mind..

past 2 days saw this red tube dress in Isetan, so cute.. cant resist it and bought it for missy.. see how missy who looks like a small adult in her tube dress.. we shall wear this during cny.

Today i let her wear her poney red dress, which she wore during her birthday, her teacher can recognise this dress (from photo brought to school for their lesson). and wonder why she pose this way today.. must be learning from some kids in childcare again.. *beh tahan*

This will be missy's third CNY ! Gong Xi Gong Xi~!

Sultanah Cornflakes Cookies

Finally i completed the cornflakes cookies.. yyipee.. i Thought maybe i will just give it a miss cos feeling pretty tired lately with backache and uncomfort due to tummy getting soooo huge.. i feel like penguin when i walk..


Today will see gynae, while waiting for the time, i just quickly get the cookies done. Yipeee.. simple baking.

This recipe is from mum's neighbour, the original recipe somehow MIA. mum has tried it and said can try so i proceed.

Raisin Cornflakes Cookies

Ingredients:
Self-raising flour 110g
raisins(or sultana) 100g
vanila essence 1 tsp

Butter 115g
sugar 50g
egg(big) 1

cornflakes 56g

1. beat butter & sugar until white and fluffy
2. add in egg, then mix in the dry ingredients, mix well
3. Make into small balls then bake at 180 deg celcius for 15 mins or until it turn golden brown.

CNY decoration

This year we at least make some time to do some CNY decoration for our home.. we are just lazy people when come to this..I saw missy's school starting to have the cny decoration and felt tempted.

So, we did the lantern +fish.. and LGG helped to string them up.. and woala.. we have four hanging in our living room, we also have 6 fishes hanging at my plants outside our corridoor.. heee..


2 more week..looking forward to it.

CNY Cookies

My first CNY cookies - Pork Floss roll. I made almost 3 package of spring roll skin & 2 bottles of pork floss. phew.. wrap till my shoulder so aching and tired.

Maid help tp fry them, first batch was slightly too brown. so we ownself eat. Altogether i made 5 big bottles ( Spaghetty sauce bottles)..

The cost price is so cheap, one pack of spring roll skin only abt $1.55 so 3 packs is $4.65 & one bottle of pork floss is about $5 so make it $10. altogether less than $15 bucks. some more i use canola oil to fry, healthier, less trans fat and not re-used oil.

hee.. i still prefer home cooked goodies. Next week shall make my pineapple tarts.

Lor-Hei

Sunday we went for our yearly vegetarian Lor-Hei. Second time we lor hei this year. Missy definitely have great time this round compare to last year.. she dances to the music and running about. LAts year she is still a baby.. *how time flies*




Missy looks pretty in yellow again.. i think yellow suit her fair skin.. and also bring out her "o-cheng" even clearer.. she climbed on her daddy back on Valentine's day at home and topple down and knock her cheek on Tv console corner *OUCH* that's how active and out-of-control toddler can be.. lucky thing nothing serious.. just a bump pn her cheek and parents feeling heartache and her grandma nagging at her parents for overlook again.. *opps*

HAppy Moo Moo Year !

Chap Goh Mei

End of Y2009 Chinese New Year. we have a pre-chapgohmeh celebration at home with steamboat.

Haven done steamboat in my home since we moved in this is the first time. We usualy had our steamboat at In laws home. SO, it's quite special. mum prepared some of the dishes and i prepare some.

LAst week, maid is down with flu. which then infected my mum.. then me (sore throat and today running nose) and then my little missy (running nose ).. so still the man in the home staying "tough".. unaffected !

We enjoyed our steamboat, so do missy, she has her share too. cutey

We started the cny with vegetarian whole day and we shall end the last day of cny tmw with whole day vegetarian as well..

Finger cross my bonus is on the way...

Happy Moo Year -2009

To me, after the first two days, cny is considered over. Cos all the eating, gathering usually on these two days.

This year, im good. healthy still. heee. last year i fall sick on the first day, no wonder rat's year is not a good year. so hopefully, *fingers cross* OX year will bring more luck to me, my family and everyone i know.



My little missy is 16th month now, she is so adorable as her interaction with us is getting more and exciting. But, at the same time, she starting to exhibit her "terrible two" characteristic that seems to be coming...

her maternal grandma bought her the chinese cheong sam, so cute, her paternal grandma bought her the red pokka dot sexy dress. haaa..cute.

we have a rather plain cny eve and first day (vegetarian ).. but, today MIL have a makaning at her house, which is good, all eat till so full hee..

Hopefully i can plan to have a cny back home one of these years..just for a change.
