New activities for Missy

Missy out-grown her toys now..and simply don't show much interest with most of her existing toys.. so i've got to think of more games for her.. to keep her occupied and give her some stimulation at the same time that we have fun !

been reading on so books

of games for toddler.. cant find the "busy with toddler" .. still searching.

so, for this weekdays, we play sponge in the water, raisin transfer game, ring stacking becomes her bracelet game, she just put the ring into her arms and dance about with her nursery rhymes and lastly the ball ring stacking games..

these games train her fine motor skills as well as follow instructions eg i ask her to transfer raisin from one bowl to another..she did a great job considering she ate some of raisins instead of putting into another bowl. haaa

more games to come..i will create some lap book for shapes , stolen idea from children books from MPH that i went to while waiting for jia the other day.. heee

Missy is getting more and more toys now..we have few basket and container just for her toys..and she is only 15th month old..*blame it all to her mummy*

Jenny gave me one set of Mega block and that has save my money to get the Lego.. Jenny said children at this age wont differentiate, just let them have fun and be creative .. mega block is good enough

We got her some huge size animals to play with, my intention to let her recognise these animals and know thei name and sound they make eg cos -moo moo, shep -meh meh.. tiger -roar .. etc.

She gets to play the doddling too , that's her daddy's.. i guess this doddle board will end aka destroy at her generation..



Every sat and sunday morning, i will bring her down for some exercise..either on her tricycle or she walks on her own.. she enjoys this morning walk.. even try out some of the exercise gadget *cute*

She loves to take lift.. there s picture of her refusing to come out and stuck at one corner..*eyes rolling*




These are some of the food i cook for her during the weekends.. sometimes i will wrap the ikan bilis into the clothes (made by my mum) and cook together with her porridge to give some ikan bilis taste, my mum prefer using ikan bilis powder after cooking..

then her broccoli and salmon and carrpt and sometimes sweet potatoes.. all in one..

yummy !but she eats it till sian i guess.. so,sometimes, i cook some marcaroni for her..the lst picture is the salad i made recently.. i love salad..will try to make my own home made salad dresing, the healthier version.




Been doing some decor on my home.. bought two racks to put my flowers outside.. hang somebutterfly and bird there to make it look nicer..missy will say bye bye to the butterfly whenever we walk pass*cutey*

and i finally got the magnetic board from ikea to stick my recipe in my kitchen so that i can refer easily during cooking./baking.



Mum and sis helped me to make the pineapple tarts on Sunday.. yummy yummy super yummy.. i just love my mum's pineapple tarts.. no other can fight.. so rich so original.

and i made the shrimp and pork floss rolls on my own too.. warp 3packahes of popiah skin.. tiring but satisfied.

mum helped me to prepare the shrimp paste. next time i will just make the pork floss easier and nicer too.



This kaya is not bad.. a bit sweet * can be improved*, gotten the recipe from a blogger. i use my bread maker to do all the work. simple, easy and no effort needed.Next time i will reduce sugar and add some pandan paste to make the colour greener.. hee

Not bad for the weekend .. done many things.. so looking forward to this weekend.. eat all i can *beaming*

Flash Cards

You know, i started flash cards months back. But missy does not seem to be too enthusist with it. She can sit through the whole flash cards session but not much responds as in when i show her hands, she just look at the card and see me saying it..

This week, i noticed that whenever i flash "Fingers" she will move her fingers.. even before i flip the photo. Is that mean she recognises the word "FINGERS" i flash "face" she will touch her face.. these are the action i will do to her whenever i flash those cards.. i will move my fingers when i flash fingers and ask her "where are your fingers".. i will touch my face then touch her face when i flash "face" and ask her "touch my face, then touch your face"... she seems to understand it now...

she also know "cheeks".. now im teaching her "feet", action word like "blow" i will touch her feet when flash feet, she will follow my action by touching her own feet. and i will blow a kiss to her when i flash her "blow" she is still looking "blur' with my action..

seems like Dr. Robert's flash card works.. so i will be making more similat flash card with more organs vocab like "eye".."ear" "nose" "lips" .. she knows eyes too, as mum always teach her at home..

I tot of adding flash card to teach her "grandpa" "grandma" "father" "mother".. etc...already printed those family members photo.. it's now the matter of putting them all together..

Busy busy me..ohh.. As of the playgroup project, im already getting some contacts from mummies with baby same age as my missy (thanks to mum's social skill ) she always mingle with those nanny/grandma downstairs.. so get their daughter's contact.. haaaa

shall organise one after october.

Missy is picking up

We noticed that little missy is picking up things fast .. i guess this is the stage she is absorbing and mimicking us.

now, she points at things she knows or like and can even call them out like herself, baby..

today, mum taught her "pa pa" as in "scared scared" and pat pat her body, she learns it immediately, in the evening when we reached home, she can do the action whenever mum says it and she can even say it together "pa pa".. OMG.. how possible !

then, mum taught her to point at eyes, nose, mouth .. she can use her finger to point at her eyes when we say eyes.. when we say mouth/nose, she still point around the same place.. her cheek area.. she knows what we ameant but not too sure where to point yet.. but already this is a great improvement.. she can comprehend our words and actiosn very well *beaming mummy*

as i always recite the rhymes of "round the garden", now, when i say round and round the garden, like a teddy bear.. she will use her own fingers to circle her palm.. how cute is that !!!! i'm just too excited to see these progress..

it's like you put in effort in some project, and finally the project's result is getting obvious each day.. coming to end of project like that.. it's fruitful !

haaa.. interesting huh!
