Im just curious is it true that vegetarian or buddhist cant eat cheese due to rennet:
What is rennet;
http://cheese.about.com/od/glossaryofterms/g/rennet.htm
Extracted from the link above:
Definition: An enzyme used to coagulate milk during the cheesemaking process. Rennet is derived from one of four sources:
1. the stomach lining of a young calf (the enzyme rennin is found in the stomach lining of animals because it aids in the digestion of their mother's milk)
2. plants (typically thistle)
3. microbes in fungus and yeast
4. Genetically engineered rennet that imitates animal rennet
Some of the forum concerning this topic by vegetarian society:
http://www.vegetarian-society.org/my_forums/viewthread.php?tid=2733
From what i extracted, cheese for vegetarian without rennet are LeBon cheese & danish cheese such as mozarella (emborg).
Last time, we used to take Hi-Cal NTUC brand cheese that is without rennet, other brand has rennet. but, recently, we noticed rennet was added into this Hi-cal cheese. so got to find another alternative.
Im find with rennet but LGG thinks as buddhist, we should try to avoid.

As usual, she wakes up in the morning and explore her home.. this weekend, i let her play in the balcony, where she will "cross" from living room to balcony..she gets to see downstairs activities..like peopl washing cars.. children walking etc.. she loves it and poke her fingers through the little holes of the grill. Good morning exercise for my missy dear..

Then,i let her self-fed her plums..with fork & spoon, she so enjoying it as she is very interested with fork/spoon and bowl.. haaa.. i think it's good practise for her to learn to hold the fork/spoon..

Afternoon, we went Ikea for lunch.. she gets to sit in the baby high chair again and her grandpa feed her some chicken pieces.. look at her.. how she loves to eat..and also photo of her at foodcourt during our sunday lunch..and when she is eating orange at grandma's place..
and we bought her two books with colourful pictures that describe how a caterpillar turn into butterfly.. very very attractive and lively, and also a leap frog colour books..only $10 for 2.. great buy !
Another weekend spent. missy is 11th month now.. so very soon we shall celebrate her 1st b'day ! cant wait ! i've already have it all plan out ! yipee!
Nanny on Holiday..
Mum is back home now, her turn to take a break..
Now, MIL is in action with missy..haaa. She is very nice to volunteer to take her 2 weeks leave to take over mum. Very grateful and she has to stay in our home for these days while leving my FIL home alone.
But, FIL came over in the morning till dinner time to accompany MIL and play with missy. They are so fond of missy. Nice.

SAHM- Day #3
Third day with Little missy at home.
Well, today still raining few times aday. missy been very cooperative, she finishes her porridge and even have half of the apple. Good job !
We went to ntuc for a little marketing while i grab my lunch at the foodcourt. Then, she takes 3 naps, as usual, her timing is so great that i manage to catch the 10am ping pong match, which as expected, lose to China. And i even manage to wallup one mug of chocolate ice-cream with chocolate chips during the match.. heee..
Activities we did today:

Morning, she roams about in the kicthen while im preparing her porridge, she loves to go to the rack where we keep the onions/garlic/ginger... she take the onions, hand it to me, then the rest she just take and throw, One new skill she just pick up recently is to take thing and hand it out to us, and things she not so interested, she will hand it out and let go on our palm, but things she still interested aka things that she needs to taste, she will hand it out but wont let go or would not hand it out to us...Today, i think she put the ginger into her mouth before i garb it away, she seem to be tasting it..*faint*
then, i cut few slices of apple for her to let her self-feed. She manage to eat some of it but then so engross with the spoon and totally lost interest in the apples, so i have to grate the apples and feed her instead.
I show her how to play the train, pull it along, she too is trying to do the same and keep pulling the train while standing up.. *show off*
One more exploration she did today which i find interesting is that, her toy roll under the coffee table, she bends down to pick it up, then examine the toy, but, put the toy back under the table.. then take it out again.. mm..Montessori approach means she is indeed learning something here through exploration and repetition. which i guess is good huh !
And i've been reading many story books to here these few days, and i noticed when she doesn't want me to read, she will start "singing" when i read. and when i stop, she stop. so, i can know now, what she likes and what she dislikes..she may not be able to tell, but from her reaction, i think i can guess ?
Called mum in the evening, they are enjoying themselves in cameron now. Gees.. so tempting, i must make a trip there one day. And my sis-in-law's mum passed away from C. how scary is that, i think also less than 1 year. she and brother flew back to sabah for the wake while my mum look after the two boys. Luckily we already plan for my MIL to take over this coming 2 weeks, now, all well-taken care of.

SAHM- Day #2
Ok. today things seem smoother. Missy at least finish her porridge today, morning/evening * happy* cos i always put in effort when preparing her food, want to let her have the best nutrient and also taste nice and yet healthy. So, when she finishes her food, i'm always happy.. heee
today, i gave her plum, which she enjoy it very much and evening, i gave her some corn soup. she loves it too.
She took 3 naps/ poo poo 2 times (darn smelly, wonder small baby that smell so nice can poo so smelly)
We did not go out, cos it just keep raining.. sob.
Activities we did today.

I let her do her own exploration as usual, she enjoys her ball, keep chasing them, so i just join in the game passing the ball to her and show her how to pass it back to me, but, she is still not yet pick up this skill, she just push the ball and throw it up , not knowing how to give it back to me. We shall revisit this game since she finally interested with balls. I introduced ball to her rather early but she just not so into it ! well. she is not boy, so, i can accept this fact. *wink wink*
Morning, i did some paper craft, making girl holding hands banner using boxes i kept for recycling. paste it on the wall above missy's book shelf, just for colour stimulation, She loves it, i call them "girl-girl"

Today, she still get to play with the wooden puzzle, and i brought out the pink panther(my toy long ago) and coil it on her cot, the pink panther has this whiskers, which scares her a bit, she just look cautious when wanting to touch him. so i show her it's ok to touch and i took her bear Bear to touch pink panther. And, im surprised to see she started to touch the panther too, first, by using the bear Bear, then with hand.. cute isn't it !! she seem to understands it is ok to touch after i demonstrate to her and using her bear Bear,.. maybe that's when she feels confident and safe to do the same thing..cos we ( mummy + her bear bear ) touch and is ok.
She then keep playing in her cot and step her leg from the cot's gap. *faint*, i stop her, but she just keep trying.
One more game we play to day is "UP, DOWN, LEFT , RIGHT" i keep saying this aloud and do the action..
"Look UP to the ceiling, Look down at your toes, Look left at the door, Look right at the window" she is very entertain by this small action and she then starting to follow me , when i look up, she looks up and so on. Very cute! so now she is into the stage of "monkey see, monkey do". cute cute.
one more day spent. since mum not around, i've let LGG to bring missy to bed at night, at least he get to spend some good night moment with his small baobei.
Looking forward to Friday ! well, it's not that bad being SAHM afterall. Just that you need to plan your day ahead and always ready for some surprises here and there. Still, i don't think i'm someone who is ready to take on the role of SAHM. Im still a FTWM !

SAHM- Day #1
A wrap up of what i have done today with my little missy. I nearly gave up at the end of the day.Geees.but i shall see how it goes for the next few days..

Today, she had 3 naps , morning 10 plus till 12 plus (rather long, and that's when i quickly go and bath & cook my lunch), afternoon around 3 to 4pm..and the evening nap from 5 plus to 6 plus.. she really can sleep and she goes to bed at around 9pm.
She manage to finish her bowl of porridge in the morning around 9am, i feed her for nearly 1 hour... *Eyes rolling* but, refuse to eat her porridge in the evening, not to waste food, i finished for her..
Activities we did today, morning, i let her roam about at home, she went to study room, and i let her dig my bag, she take out almost everything and like keys the most and my ear piece.., the picture also showed how MESSY my study table is AGAIN.. sigh...i've got to find time to tidy up AGAIN.
Then, we play her flash cards, i finished flashing to her and let her admire the cards..*her favourites*.then, i read some books for her like Mr. Bounce & Mr. Skinny.i even brought out the puzzle i thought should play only when she is 2. but, really cant think of new things to play with her, she is interested with the puzzle. but later, as you can guess, to her mouth it goes..so, i decided to stop the game ..
Wanted to go out for a walk, but it started to rain after her noon nap, so i watch some olympics, while missy busy crawl here and there, stand in the middle and i have to chase her and watch her.. we even watch Hi-Five today cos i tot she may be bored with the olympics.. but seems like she is not interested. quite tiring actually, cos i cant sit down and relax.. but, have to keep an eye on missy as she just cant stop moving about..*tears*
Then, at around 4plus, rain finally stop, so we went out to library for a walk. I let her free in the library, she is so happy and keep touching the carpet and wanting to make friends with children there.. my friendly missy..We din stay long there, just for awhile then we come back and missy seem sleepy, so she takes another nap.
that's when i quickly bath and told maid what to do for dinner.
Thar's how i spent my day with missy. Somehow, i keep feeling "responsible" to keep her entertain, and that has put on pressure on me .. maybe tmw i will try to let her play her own...
Oh.. i've got an assignment. shall reveal when i get my first paycheck. heee.interesting !

Maternity package -08
Today, finally PM got the chance to telecast his speech on goodies..he got to give way to Olympic Ping Pong.. which Sg lost 0-3 to china. well.. for us, it's basically a game between china team 1 and china team 2. When the gold medals were singing the china national anthems, we were thinking.. the three china -sg representative must be singing inside too ? cos they may not even know how to sing sg national anthem..ironic.. but, it has proven one thing, SG indeed needs and depends on foreign talent in order to achieve certain goals.
However, is it something to be proud of ? silve medal after 48 years.. by a team of chinese born PRs ?.. mm.. my cols said - not proud of it !
What im interested in:
1. Maternity leave - 4 months (not sure if im still entitled)
2. paternity leave - 6 days
3. unpaid 1 week leave (can be taken anytime of the year)
4. baby bonus -more, not sure how much more even for first child
5. early children education development - rebates on fees/enhancement/more centres
6. kindergarden - enhance standards
7. Utility bills rebate
Got to get a copy of newspaper tmw.. now still can read online. 2 weeks free online.

Montessori: What Type of Mother Hen Are You?
I find this site interesting:
http://montessorimom.com/phat/

my answers are not so accurate now, as i just choose what i think for this stage, it should be more accurate when my missy is at montessori's age (2-6)
Ten commandments of Marriage
Auntie Jackie sent me this mail.. something to ponder..
Commandment 1.
Marriages are made in heaven. But then again, so is
thunder and lightning.
I think it takes 2 to tango, don't ever believe in "live happily ever after" kinda tales.. cos when u picture the perfection, it usually disappointed you. Compromise, tolerance, and open minded will help you to enjoy the journey of marriage..
which I’ve learnt that. I think so far, I enjoy my journey
Commandment 2.
If you want your wife to listen and pay strict
attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.
mm.. it should be if I want my husband to pay attention instead ? well, at least he listens to me when I’m complaining, which I never stop complaining.. gees.. I should change this ! esp complaining my maid.. tak boleh tahan ! and he reads my blog to get some “updates” on my life.. Ironic huh! But, sometimes we are too busy too sit down to talk abt everything.. tt’s why I usually make it a point to eat dinner together, so that we can have some chat.
Commandment 3.
Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100
grand!
Neh.. no this word in my vocab.
Commandment 4.
Married life is very frustrating. In the first year
of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens.
In the second year, the woman speaks and the man
listens. In the third year, they both speak and the
neighbors listen.
I think I speak more than him. but shall see third years if we speak of our daughter speaks.. muahahha
Commandment 5.
When a man opens the door of his car for his wife,
you can be sure of one thin g: Either the car is new
or the wife is.
mm..or the wife is carrying his child maybe ?
Commandment 6.
Marriage is when a man and woman become as one; The
trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
worst when children come along ? we have to vote now.
Commandment 7.
Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night
thinking about something you say. After marriage, he
will fall asleep before you finish.
mm..might be true. Maybe cos woman has too much to say ?
Commandment 8.
Every man wants a wife who is beautiful,
understanding, economical, and a good cook. But the
law allows only one wife.
multitasking wife. I think I fit the bill muahaha.. *thick skin* I think LGG will disagree.. cos my temper really cannot make it ! still working hard to control my super fast temper..
Commandment 9.
Marriage and love are purely matter of chemistry.
That is why wife treats husband like toxic waste.
I treat him well. He is a lucky man ! except the temper part. opps
Commandment 10.
A man is incomplete until he is married. After that,
he is finished.
LGG agrees with he is more complete after marriage, esp with the arrival of our missy.. I agree with him too.

New hair style

Friday when i came back from home, first thing i see when i open door is my missy's new hair style.. she looks so different from her usual hairstyle.. muahahha..
cutie cutie.. tt's one thing great abt having a missy at home.. you are basically having a live doll to play with.. or should i say.. u can make her looks as cute as u want her to be.. and buy things that u wish u can have during your childhood days..
geees.. i hope i wont make her too vain next time..
First bruises..

Thursday, missy is crawling too fast.. rushing dunno go where.. and , she trip and knock herself on the floor.. her teeth somehow cut through her lower lips and it bleeds..
Friday, her eyes locked on the TV.. and walking around the coffee table.. trip again.. maybe her leg cross wrongly.. knock her face on the coffee table side..lucky not the corner..so blue black one line on her left face..
sigh.. heartache to see her with these bruises.. but. hey.. if children do not fall, they wont learn...
got scolding from mum.. cos she complaint .. said i always let missy move freely.. said i let her explore freely.. and that's why fall down.. mm.. i cant be guarding her all the time.. else, how can she learn to walk.to crawl./to explore..
just hope no more falling for missy..

This weekend, my back is feeling ok, funny thing i think i get my backache from yoga, but, after this friday yoga (i did not over-stretch, as in i did not go beyoand what i think i should) and my yoga just become better and i can bend and turn left and right without problem .. magic ! so, conclusion is that never never over-do.. just listen to your body.. this is always mention during our yoga lesson.. but sometimes being a little bit too ambitious.. causes injutry instead of healing..
neeway, this weekend, plan to go taka for some shopping.but due to delay of time and raining, we ended up hanging out IL's home..

sat morning, i let bb play with ice, this is her very first time playing with ice, very fun to see her enjoying herself, she j=is trying to catch and hold the ice which is very slippery and keep slip out from her hands.. and she tries to put the ice into her mouth, which the ice is rather big and when the ice melted and she finally manage to stuff it inside her mouth, she seems so satisfied haaa.. but the coldness make her face looks so "sour" haaaa
Then, we play ballons of heart shape and doggie, brought over by her ah yee..then, i took out her new toys from cupboard, the building bricks with the small pink carrier and a pink truck bought some time back by her popo... she seems happy to explore these two toys..
of course, we never forget to do some reading , Mr sneeze .. and flash card, she is like usual, concentrating on each of the flash card and wanted to eat them all..*eyes rolling*.. we play Peek-a-boo too.. this time i add in some variation, i hide her green bear into the blanket and ask her to find, now she knows the bear is call "bear bear".. whenever we say bear bear, she will search and bring it over.. so, she manage to take the bear out under the blanket.. Good job !! shall repeat this game next week
k.. next week mum going back home for her 3 weeks holidays. i will be spending most time with missy.. somehow , i tell LGG, i have fear over being a stay-at-home-mum.. i dread the idea of being at home ONLY.. scary.. this week i shall have to experience being SAHM.. i hope i make full use of my time.. geesss.. Luckly thing it's only 1 week.. booo..

Retire by 45 ?!?
mm.. recently jia has been posting few entries on this topic.. retire by 45.. even JM is talking abt it..
But, i still think it's nor practical to retire at 45 le..but, one lucky thing jia and i have in common is that we have a carefree work. my work is super duper bagus in term of flexibility. which i enjoy the most now. the work itself is manageable, within my control and my ability. Thus, i have not been stretching my skills for sometime.. meaning lots of things i do in my work is really things i can manager and i don't pick up new skills..bad and good huh ! but, i guess, im fine with it for now.
well, let's see. now im 31 of age.. if i were to retire by 45. or let's assume at 45. i still have 14 years to go. by then my missy will be 15 years of age..mm.. will i be in a stage that im comfortable with the word "retire" ? either mentally or financially.
let say i will live up to 70 years of age.. so for that 25 years, what am i going to do ? gardening ? travelling ? relax and carefree life ? will i be able to stand the "nothing-t-do" days .. will it make my brain slow down ? cos not much to think of when retire ? my brain cells will slow down and become inactive ? i may not even live up to 70 then ?
geees.. anyway. i just COULD NOT imagine myself retire anytime now.. i just could not stop doing things.. busy around..
but, life is too unpredictable.. we may plan.. schedule.. blahh.. but who knows what will come tmw.. or rather 1 month down the road..just enjoy your carefree days whenever u still have the chance.. do something useful or start a new hobby if really find it hard to get pass the days..
geess.. im still thinking should i try to sew a dress for my girl..i really don't have much talent in arts.. arts-less mummy. but i will try. never give up !

BacK-aching
sat morning, after all my activities with missy, while half way feeding missy, she keep saying "mm mmm mm" this is how she signal to us, she wanan poo poo.. so i carry her up and bring her to her potty.. not sure is it my action is too quick, that after i kneel down, i cannot stand up .. my back has this sudden pulling.. i just couldn't stand up without holding on to something earby..
ARRRGBGGGG.. this is killing me.. Never in my life, i experienced such pain..not even giving birth..i cannot bend down.. cannot turn.. so no choice, got to give emergency call to my "support team" aka mum & mum-in-law.. today is saturday, so MIL in action.. so she took over for the whole weekend including night time. Geesss..Very very grateful to both my mums.. without them, i really dunno what to do..looking after baby is however woman's task, i just dun quite trust man can do a better job than us..
I think it's my yoga session on friday, that i over-stretched myself. i tot i can push myself a bit further but seems like it's a mistake to do so. Got to watch out else will have side-effect esp woman, so far, woman of my mum's age, all got backache.. so it's got nothing to do with EPIDURAL hor..
my plan to go shopping during national day all crashed.. ended up in bed whole day.. sob. today better after applying doctor's cream. he suggested physiotherapy if not getting better.. shall se how it goes..
Health is so important, whenever i fall sick, i always remind myself to exercise, eat healthily to stay healthy.. I hate to be sick !
maybe i should go swimming more.. good exercise

Activities Revisit
This weekend, we revisit two activities we did back in june anfd July. I really can see difference in my little missy in her alertness and participation..especially the swimmin session, LGG and i are amazed at how much she has grown from June to now, August

From this weekend swimming, she enjoy the swimming more than back in June. she started splashing and kicking the pool water the moment i put her into the pool. she smile and enjoy herself in that short session. really happy to see her enjoying the water splashing..
I let her tried the clour pencil (highlighter) drawing this week, she is still giving the similar level of interest towards the colourful pencil instead of holding it to draw, which i guess is expected as it needs some training to at least hold a pen to mark something on the drawing block..

I let her use the colour high lighter which was given to me from a course. it is scented and colourful. shall revisit this activity in weeks to come.
we still do some other activities this weekend, such as letting her continue to take books from book shelf, let her explore her daddy's study room, search for his mouse..let her play with teddy bear collections from McD.. let her explore her toys basket, arrange flash card on floor, let her mess it up one by one from one point to the end point.. put one teddy bear and one ducky into two section and teach her the name of both hope she can recognise them.. but.. she only interested in throwing them out ..

she now can call "bear bear" whenever we ask her where is bear bear, she will turn to her green bear bear which we put in her cot.. and carry the bear bear.. today she can say "baby"..we are rather surprised. i kepe teaching her duck duck duck.. but, she only remember baby,, which we guess is the name we always call her..
well.. one weekend spent. looki forward to next weekend !

Curtain all the way..
Been busy lately with the curtain fabric selection.. go down to order.. send for sweing.. then collect..
Finally, i=within 1 week plus time, the curtain is ready.. faster than expected.
Now, my home changing from "zen" style to very colourful- full of red and patterns.. I love it ! and missy loves it too, she likes the living hall curtain..
So, my next project will be --> Little Missy's First Birthday..Stay tune !
Sister's birthday
Next week is my sis's birthday, so we thought we celebrate this week, we went to vivo to have lunch..

today, i let missy wear purple dress, she looks so cute.. all the way from train trip to the restaurant she attracts so many "admirer" haaa.. she is rather friendly too..Took these photos while we are "wrestling in bed" ..this picture i chosen is very cute in the sense, she is like blink one eye.. i don't think it's possible for baby her age to know how to do it.. it is just being captured by chanced.

I actually bake the cream cheese swirl chocolate cake.. i guess i really don't have much talent in cake baking.. see how it turned out to be.. so soft.. it just cruched when i take it out from the baking pan.. sob sob.. anyway, i still give it to my sis..it's the thoughts that count huh !

Weekend activities -August #1

This week, we did not do anything special..my aim this week is to introduce her the letter "A" and the related items..
So, i've created this book with "A" related pictures..she is able to sit(stand) quietly till i finish all the pictures.. but she just cant help but want to touch the book.. so i thought ok, let you have it, flip it through.. Oh Noo.. biggest mistake.. she actually torn the page out ! sob.. Anyway, it's expected. i'm just hoping for miracle that she will "handle with care"
This week, we have read few "touch & feel" books.. she is enjoying it for the first 3-4 days.. but after that, she just ignore the books even when i put in all around her..ohh.. she even bite one portion of the rabbit's mummy's off the book.. i cant dig it out from her mouth or anywhere on the book or floor.. so i assumed she has swallowed that portion of the page.. sob.... till now she never complaint stomachache i guess no side effect huh !
shall see what we will be doing this coming week. i will still continue to teach her "A"
As for sound making, she can say papa very accurately now.. sometimes mama.. and mum mum when wants milk milk.. her favourite word still papa.. so, i guess all baby alike, their first word always papa first.. sob..
