2 years back the dentist told me that sooner or later i will have to extract the 2 wisdom teeth on my lower jaw..as the position of these 2 wisdom teeth is slanting towards the molar teeth and left a small area in between that causes food to stuck in there.. each time after food i will need to use my tongue to dig the food out.. very tiring...and great possibility the food will accumulate and causes decay.. even brush of flosss cant get the food out..




today i'm digging the food with my tongue like usual..annoyed..checked with small mirror and to my surprise.. the two wisdom teeth already developed black spots on the side nearer to the molar teeth.. OHH NOOO... meaning that i will have to extract them soon.. else it will infect the molar teeth..

I HATE to see dentist...n i heard extracting wisdom teeth needs MC.. cause cant really eat/chew on that side.. So i have 2 to pluck.. i really not sure if i can go through this...

i think will only go to see dentist after cny.. at least i can enjoy all the food happily first before suffer from the pain...

he said he has a position as system engineer to administrator AIX & Sun Solaris machine.. i told him i dun have experience in this machines.. as im trained in hp-ux but not forgetting to tell him i have confident i can pick up in no time as they are all running on UNIX.. so he said he he will tell his colleague that i have hpux background n can pick up AIX & Sun Solaris.. willing to learn.. n he will fwd my resume to him.. well.. ok lor.. i dun mind more opportunities.. still polite to him..in IT industry.. must make sure we always keep the network..

Irene said the guy she set last time worked there for 2 years already and they get 1.5 (aws+bonus) and the salary is higher than my current basic.. mm.. not bad ..

i told her i better check with manager first see what he thinks.. this position is immediate.. which less likely i can go immediately ? talked to KH.. our conversations goes like this via sonork :

Been talking abt the dba job that im waiting for to my chat frens..they encouraged me to call the manager .. at least know the outcome..no point waiting helplessly.. i called up the manager.. din answer.. later in the afternoon.. he sms me which goes like this:

Went to the getronics interview.. we are meeting at SIA blg which is one of their customer site "Michelin"..met up with the project manager.. his name is Kusani..i tot i'll be meeting indian.. but from his voice does not sound like indian.. so i guess he may be those fair fair indian, if good luck.. he could be good looking.. haaa..

when this "Kusani" appeared.. mm.. a bit bald..looks like indonesian or so...he wear coloured contact lense which immediately attract all attention to his eyes only.. haaa.. a very polite guy.. interviewing sessions with him and a program manager..whom does not seem to have much liking for me.. cos he keep smiling to himself.. n looks like wanted to end the session asap.. but this Kusani is patiently explaining the job scope.. basically this is a "bao ka liao" job..will have many extra scope/roles.. suckss.. n need to be on stand-by..but i dun mind starting from here so that i could have chance to polish up my oracle skill..

Then this program manager ask.. " why u want to do/concentrate only on oracle databases " a very good questions indeed..i was telling him i know system (OS).. so i want to know one layer above OS.. which will be databases or application.. sap is too expensive and the opportunity is too limited.. so oracle is a right choice for me..

and he said he wants to know the standard q.. " where will i see myself in 3 to 5 years time".. tot of telling him.. i'll probably be married n have kids.. .. haaa..of course i din tell him that..i told him... i'll be DBA by then..deep down im thking.. i wish..

that's all lah.. they gave me name cards.. say if have any qs can email/call them. and said they want to fill the position immediate.. so if they found someone who fit into the role and can start immediate.. they will hire him.. so this clearly hinting that i stand no chance lor...........

Watched this Thailand ghost movie called "shutter".. this is the second best ghost story i've watch since "The eye".. after watching still feel eerie over the image of the ghost sitting on the actor's shoulder.. geliiiiiii..



This movie was recommended by JH.. he said a MUST watch.. after watching it.. i totally agree with him.. a good and frightening ghost story.. a few scenes i have to close my eyes and got few shocks.. haaa.. by the way.. i watched in the afternoon.. with bright sunlight.. n i still feel the fear.. imagine if u watch at night and if u watch alone....the BEST part is the truth at the end when they revealed why the actor felt uncomfortable on the back of his neck and that when he weigh himself.. his weight is almost double ( b'cos the ghost is riding on him ) .......................................

maybe i should cut a copy ..bring home scare my sis in law.. she watch horror/ghost movie by shutting down the volume.. so she wont hear the sound effect.. clever huh...but no fun like that..

ForGeTful Day

Today went workout like most saturdays with HweeLi..packed my stuff before go out and when i reach the changing room..i realised that i left my sports shoes at home..and i forgot to bring extra shirt to change !! WHAT HAPPEN ?!? cant believe im that blur.. if i have my swimsuit i can still go swimming.. but now!!!

so i just do cycling with my sandal..HL accompanied me as she has too much to talk about.. and need someone to listen to her grumbling n everything..we both made appointment for facial after the work-out.. heee

today the lady who usually attended to me is not around so the other lady took over..i dun really enjoy her massage sessions.. but she really make me "beh tahan" so hard sell..keep asking me to renew the facial package..nearly like forcing me to sign.. wah lao... i have to lie saying that my sis may already help me sign up at another place i better check first..still have 3 more sessions.. really want to quickly complete the whole course then go else where..

tot of taking a short nap.. but maybe the coffee took with HL during lunch..cant sleep..so ended up watching tv and do my beads got to give HL else she will pester me again..Next week we will go shopping for cny clothes..

started to feel the cny atmosphere already..with cny songs from radio n shopping centres.. i think my favourite festival is CNY..not for the ang pow anymore.. but the gathering with family members..

when we grow older.. we will appreciate the time we have with our loved ones more n more.. reason being.. we dun see each other that often like when we were younger...n we dun have chance to fight or argue like when we were staying together..

I've been having migraine pretty often these days.. stress? not eating right ? sick? face too much of the PC ?

not sure what's the real cause but it is really not a pleasure experience.. usually if i sleep through the night it will dissapear.. but once or twice.. it prolong till the next day and that is really sickening..

search through the web, there is no cure for migrain.. i think im gonna ask JH for the medicine he recommended me last time.. he said it works for him hope it works for me too..

Today Albert (Bizlink job agent) called, he ask me if im interested for a position which he think fit my skill sets

i told him about the scs's follow up, he said he ia not being informed abt this .. the manager havent told him that they are taking me already.. mm.. suspicious.. i told him i met the manager last monday and we have somehow agree upon the terms n conditions except that he will try to ask for the price i ask for.. he said he can check.. and meanwhile he told me abt this job

a permanent postion at IBM( kaki bukit or changi south ) as some enterprise dunno waht engineer , monitoring the system tool, more for server and network.. he said this job can offer the salary that meet the range i ask for.. hooo... glad to hear that.. he said he sent a guy to another similar position for window and he said he has been doing well. so ow they r looking for another person for this position.. GREAT.. sounds good.. but not much interaction with the databases...


we i asked him, what should i do ? should i wait for the job (scs) or proceed to keep on searching for new job.. he said " proceed while waiting" mm.. exactly what i have in mind.. so he will arrange for the appointment.. hope to hear from him soon..heee

if i get the second job, i will go for it.. as it is a big company will definitely benefited more.. and i can also do a internal transfer of job scope..

MONDAY.. monday blues again..this was worsen by some my stupid teammates's attitude..

As we worked on Round-Robin manners, cases are taken in R-R, and each week we take turn to be the "GUI" the one who si monitor the software q..UNFORTUNATELY, this week i'm the GUI and as expected some monkey will try his BEST to make this the worst week of any GUI. except when he is the GUI..

Whenever it's his turn to take cases.. he will find all excuses.. want GUI to check this check that.. reject this reject that.. Good enough.. this morning the same old things happen again but this is not his turn but he is kind enough to help others to justify the sw-not-suppose to take case

Last friday, david already mentioned abt the ftp slow case to jackson n myself. we told him to check on the h/w portion, the NIC if he confirm no problem then he can pass to s/w for checking..

so, this morning, David happily pass the case over as he said CONFIRM not h/w problem.. well.. time for comeone to start his "acting".. he bombarded the team especially GUI. said h/w should check this check that.. blahhh.... n i have to revert whatever teammates said to David since he is the one who pass the case over.. he has his own view.. he is saying.. ftp is not h/w issue at all.. blahhhh... so i pass what he said to my teammates.. n that stupid Monkey bombarded with more sonorks.. i told him.. why dun u talk directly to David instead.. n he repluied "u r the GUI and not us " that really piss me off, i replied to teammates

" SO what if im the GUI, let me know if u guys want me to reject forward the case" THE END

so JH said he agrees with what cf said.. we shall reject fwd to david.. FINE. i reject the case. Deep down i really GLAD i choose to leave this whole damn place.. it is very unlucky n not a pleasure at all to work with someone who is so petty, not reasonable, acted as if he is senior so pls respect me kind of attitude.. ENOUGH of this..

and i really thk JH is sometimes two-face guy..this is what BK said n today i agree with her..

anyway.. after lunch i feel better.. and promise myself to try to be happy for the rest of the days im left with in this darn company..

SaTuR-DAY

Started my workout routine.. saturday..sis n i decided to go swimming instead of gym.. we haven been swimming for sooo long.. i think i haven swim for more than a year..luckily i still have remember how to swim


We went to the swimming pool that was for NUS-alumni but planet fitness members are allowed to use the pool. Not so big, and the water is just five feet..after few laps i'm out of breath.. really old liao.. but the pool water is extremely cold.. that make me have to keep swimming to warm-up my body..

After swimming, we went back to fitness centre and had our weekly sauna..met HL, she looked so tired, with dark ring under her eyes..she said this is the most 'headache' project she ever handled.. and hopefully the problem can be solved by next week.. phew.. life of a consultant.. a dream job of mine .. is not easy as it seems.. so.. enjoy the care-free life i have now.. while i still have it..


Today is master Lim's yearly gathering..i din go the past few years..but this time round he emailed us so paiseh to reject .. went along with SN, JF as well as ML..
As expected, there are many PRCs( China chinese )..we feel so out of place.. as usual, we hide into the TV room and watch "POLICE STORY"..and let Thomas entertaint us by his super funny jokes and his 'papasan' role.. ghaaaa..how to live with man like this ? i think i laughed to death to each of his joke..he is still the funniest guy in BBC (Black-Belt-Club).. althought he still a red-belter but he has been member for so long, so BBC accepted him as member already .. haaaaa


After the movie, we have b'day songs.. Ohh.. this year we din get to eat cake.. wonder why.. maybe they dun have enough for everyone .. they bought 3 cakes for master Lim..haaa.. we left around 4:30.. i really cant stand the warm temperature in his house.. maybe too many people.. feel like goin to get sick..so i din join SN they all to china town, went home to take nap instead.. zzZzZzz.. sleeping queen..

ML said she predicted that she will have a promotion this coming february, good for her as she has been working hard towards this i guess.. as the rest of us.. most things remain almost the same.. not much changes.. except my job switching.. they will go Kota Kinabalu climbing.. which i cant be joining.. sob sob..

after skipping so many week of classes.. finally im back to gym.. work-our work-out work-out.. fat liao.. feel so much "bak"...



After work, rush to fitness centre, luckily still can make it to Pilates..45 minutes of stretching.. after that stay on to follow the Astanga yoga class

Finally i start my yoga class.. lots of stretching & breathing.. a bit hard in the beginning as the twisting and bending make me feel a bit "black-out" cos the instructor keep asking us to bend down.. head touching the knee, palm underneatth the feet.. however.. after few minutes of strecthing.. things seem better.. at least start to know how to stabilise my posture.

Each movement have some name for it.. but of course i dun really get what the instructor said..

David .. our software team grand-senior since he is the first batch software rce. he left company before i joined to further studies in NTU.. but he said due to financial problem he din complete the course and he came back to Acacia.. as on-site engineer..

Adi was posted to Karachi, hence David took over as remote eng. i told him, if he wants to sit at adi's place he has to bring newspaper every morning like adi did... & he really did that.. haaa..

Today we lunch together.. BK, Him & myself.. we somehow talked about how if your wife earn more than yourself.. how will you feel, this is Q asked by JL which i find it quite difficult to answer..so i want to understand this from guy's point of view..

David said.. this is better..since the wife can contribute more in their "share account".. Bk n i argue.. when wife earn more does not mean they HAVE to contribute more..Man will still be the head of the household whois suppose to bear the responsibility of taking care of the family.. it's fair to say the wife n husband share equally by contributing the same amount to the "share account".. the wife's extra cash can be used for her own expenditure.. and this may lighten the husband's financial load since the wife wont have to ask for the husband every penny she spend...David still think the wife should contribute more..blahh..we lazy to argue.. change topic to travelling.. heee

JF said if this is happening to her.. if the husband love her very very very much ( she said must emphasise this ) then she may accept it, but she said the difference has to be around 500 bucks.. if she is earning 3k and the husbnad 1k plus then a bit hard to maintain the relationsip..but come to think of it.. isn't it the other way round? it should be if she love the husband very very very much then she will be able to accept this fact ? haa.. anyway.. she has the same dilemma as me.. it's hard to tell how we feel until we are really in this situation..

Finally we met up with Ken a.k.a "Tek-Ko" the pole.. Surprise surprise.. the "tek-ko" not so "tek-ko" anymore.. he has rounder face now.. can see life is much better in his current job..

Gis, Ken & i went to Raffles city 'Coffee club' had our dinner as well as MUDPIE.. yes mudpie again.. we had "tiramisu" and "muddy" mudpie.. forgot to take the picture, not until we clear the plate then i remembered i had my camera with me, taken one with empty plates.. this is the "after" mudpie session. haa.. Ken said he never try mudpie b4 .. and he like it.. heee.. expected.. who doesn't



After we finihsed dinner & mudpie.. Wayne came . my customer, he look older than his age, funny guy.. easy to talk to n joke a lot..we talked a lot about our job, Gis must be bored to death..So Sorryyyy...but no choice.. cos 3 IT people, what else can they talk abt if not IT related topics..

Anyway, Ken foot the bill. ghaaaa...and later at night, he sms and said next time is my treat.. ok lor.. no problem..

SoOn to Be OrAcLe DBA..

Went to the second interview this evening.. met up with the team leader and Mr Leong.. they are very friendly.. chatty.. and i feel relax talking with them.. they somehow already decided to hire me just want to meet up and discuss about job scope and expectation..

Im excited over the new job.. there will b new things to learn, new colleagues, new environment..new challenge.. my main role will be as oracle dba.. and i will be doing some unix system admin job as well.. Since we r in government sector environment, we will b on 5 days work.. no shift work.. no standby.. just what i want.. the setback is the salary.. they cant give the price i want.. the most they can offer is what i get currently with incentives.. well.. i dun mind .. i shall make full use of this 1 year to pick up n polish up my oracle admin skill.. and i wont worry abt getting the amount i want after that... i hope..heee



My sis n i are looking for Hong Kong package... heee.. gonna make this trip by end of feb.. after that shall concentrate on my new job.. YIpeeee.. a good start for year 2005..

While at home, i help my mum to fry rice.. heee. i think this is the first time i ever fry rice.. simple actually but they all complaint..said no taste.. mm.. maybe not enough ketchup.. nvm next time shall try again..

JF n i are too free.. we were discussing about what business we wanna do if we lose our job..

Recently..i'm crazy about beads bracelet making.. so i told her.. maybe i set up a website and sell my work..as a hobby as well.. then jia said we must think of what name to give for our products.. then if she feels like making some clothe toys can sell with her own label as well..

So.. we shall attend his wake back home...my cousin said he had Heart attack.. never know he had any problem with his heart.. must be sudden attack.. we have not get the detail..

my mum seems to have lots in her mind after getting this news.. she kept saying life is short..one day it'll be her turn.. blahh.. we were telling her.. please lah..dun thk to much..but deep down...i guess when ur frens or people ur age start to leave u one by one.. we will have the same worries too.... last night she toss n turn.. din get much sleep.. she said she has a lot in her mind...


Anyway..shall make our way back home to pay last respect to my uncle..

There goes New Year.. now looking forward to chinese New Year..i guess.. very soon i'll be in holiday mood again..

Start to worry abt my job search.. still no news.. no one call.. sob sob..

I'll be home to Melaka this weekend.. when was the last time i'm home ?!?.. November 2004.. went back to attend Jen's wedding..this time round go home is b'cos my sis ask me to.. she got a new car.. so wanna share her new car with me i guess.. and this mornign.. we received news from cousin that my father's second brother passed away... come to think of it.. it's about 1 year after my father's death.. second one follow... we will nto attend his wake.. as he is a very bad uncle and brother.. his family did not attend my father's wake as well..

Sometimes, am thiking.. why brothers or siblings can become so "unrelated" .. they r suppose to be close...we never even visit each other for years..

But from what my parents described.. my father's brother fight for their father's fortune... and bully the weak... this uncle managed to get most of the portion as they said he is very cunning and wicked.. and his children are those educated but look down on people.. they acted as if they r so high up.. and the rest are not their standards.. cant stand the look on their face.. PUKE..

anyway.. my mum always said we ( my brother, my sis n myself )only have 3 siblings.. so.. must learn to love/care for each other.. when parents are gone.. we only have the three of us... yeah.. i always remember this.. stick together till the end.. blood is thicker than water ( chinese saying )

this weeked.. will b in Melaka.. maybe go n pray my father and tell him.. his brother is joining him up there... heee... and ask him to help me get a good job.. soon...



And my cousin is asking us to tell aunty Jackie ( my yongest aunty ).. we r going to tell him.. if he want her to attend their father's wake.. call her themselves.. we r not his slave !!

Yesterday..drag my mum n sis to Chinatown.. to look for beads..found this shop at the overhead bridge near people's park.. selling all type of beads..

crystal beads are not cheap.. 80 cents each.. so to make a bracelet .. i need around 20 beads.. which is about $16 already.. but they look very niceee...

Decided to get cheaper ones first.. cos beginners.. must try first then go for real ones.. got the nylon strings.. few packets of beads.. hook...Before my beads making..
My sis suggested we have ice cream at Swensen.. she said the apple crumble is irresistible.. wanna try banana crumble..



First bite..mmm..Not bad..second bite..still nice..third bite.. woahh..cant stand it liao..super sweet..cant eat too much..

We have banana split as well.. since three of us eating.. so.. before dinner.. we have our "banana" deserts.. heee..

I would rate this banana crumble 6/10.. as for mudpie.. 9/10

The weather makes us feel so lazy.. wanna stay in bed all day..and so sad too.. could it be that the people "up there" is hinting us something ? they feel sad too for the victims of tsunami ?!?

Finally today completed my lessons.2 more modules to cover.. will have 2 weeks break.. yipee.. maybe i should start to revise what i've learnt so far.. but the weather just make me wanna zZZ.. feeling dizzy all day..not sure if it's b'cos the cold weather or my body just refuse to start work yet..

Gotten 8 stalks of roses from JL .. he said he din understand why ger likes flowers.. mm...yeah why huh? not sure too..juts nice to have them.. heee
