Didi now started to show his preference for people, things, food. he will also started to "fight" for toys with his sister. The sister will play her toys.. lilt brother will crawl to her toys and try to get "involved" in her game.. but the sister said "no no.." *imitating us* " u r small boy cannot play" but didi insisted that he is "old" enough to play the toy such as blocks..and try to grab one.. the sister will then sweep all the blocks to one corner.. and raise her voice "NO, you cannot play".. the didi seeing his target being removed.. will started to make complaint voice.. then make noise..then we have to get "involved" to intevene.. to carry the didi away..so.. very soon, the two will be fighting for toys.. for real one...

Didi says "papa" "tata"

little bb boy now is starting to practise his speech .. and as expected he started off with "papa" instead of "mama" which almost everyday i tell him to call me "mama" the only time he call "ma" is when he is angry and mix with his crying.. with ah "ma"... sob..

He is now still doing his commando crawl.. but pretty fast when he spotted something he likes.. he will push all things away and commando crawl towards his target.. very funny gesture..

anyway, little munchkin is so adorable now.. we just cant help is but fall in love with him more and more.. even his sister cant resist him, always squeeze near near to him..

little 8 month-0ld boy boy

My little cherup loves when i sing the rhyme while circling on his palm

round and round the garden action: circling on his palm
like a teddy bear
one step, two steps.. action: walking up his hands towards his arm
tickle under there.. action: tickle his armpit or belly..

i have started playing with him for awhile now, 2 months back i guess. and even his sister knows how to do the action when reciting the rhyme.

didi will start smiling even before i start the circling on palm action. i just have to say round and round the garden.. he is already expecting the "akan datang" haaa.. very cute boy

Didi Hospitalised

Last week, we had a eventful weekend, as didi was hospitalised from Friday night(29th Oct) to 1st Nov noon.

The whole story as below..

on 25th Oct(Monday), after i came back from work, mum said did seems to have some cough and phlegm.. that was after the flu episode from lil missy, eventhough lil missy has recovered from her cough/phlegm, she still cough occassionally with the sound of phlegm in her throat. we have since saw doc for 4 times.. imagine that. doc said with the haze, the phlegm took longer than usual time to clear.

and the thing we afraid happened. didi got the virus from his sister.. finally, after like coming to a month since lil missy first started with her cough. and that coincide with.. i have just stopped breastfeeding. sob.

on monday night, did cough and vomitted his milk, we brought him to see the doctor near our home immediately, no fever yet. doc said still early stage, is ok. but the cough with phlegm and running nose got worst even with medicine. and he started to develop fever on wednesday night, mild one..37.9 or so. and we monitored for one day, which the fevere did not go away on the whole day of Thursday 28th Oct. so, on Friday , i took leave to bring him and missy to see the Paedatrician @ Bishan. as missy still cough occasionally.

spent almost 200 for the two for the visit. but didi's fever never subsided, and he started to lose appetite for milk/porridge and he looks verey sleepy and cranky, his fever still hovering at 38 + to 39+.. after medicine it took about 1 hour to drop. In the evening, his fevere still at 39 plus even after medicine, after 4 hours. i felt not right, so we quickly bring him to KKh A&E. I smsed my PD, she said is expected, she even guaranteed that by Sunday 31/10 his fever/cough will be better, asked me to sponge him. But when we reached KKh A&E, his fever was at 40.1deg.. ohh no.. too much
risk/stress for me to take.. after the paracetamol, didi fever still at 38 plus. so the doc ask me to decide, either to bring him home and continue to sponge and monitor or stay in hospital. i chose the later.

so, we were admitted. With professional nurses checking didi's temperature hourly/2 hourly, it made me feel much better. and didi's fever subsided on Sat night. and the doctor in KH ward told me, it's normal that baby this age will have fever this high for 5-7 days, he somemore said, maybe i don't know, he explained to me. i told him, i don't want to take the risk, cos the doc said only fever with fits is dangerous, but so long u know how to abort it and only fever up to 42 deg will cause bain damage.. but hey, how would i know how to abort a fit if it ever happen ? and what if when i was sleeping, his fever shoot up to 42 deg?? all the ifss. so i dun want to take the risk.

and true enough, didi was back to normal on Sunday.. and after oen day of clear from fever, we left home on Monday. What a scare ! lucky thing didi is ok now. he has since regain his appetite.

We stayed at KKH 1 bedded thus, treatment like VIP, seem like staying in hotel like that.. haaa.. lil missy was with MIL, and we din bring her to see didi as nurses advises us not to, as many baby/todler having fever due to haze.

It was updated on 26th Oct, didi now has 6 teeth altogether.

Didi has thick hair

little boy has so much hair compare to his sister. sometimes we just like to tease him, by tying his hair.. his sister will come to take away his rubber, as she is stern to point out " didi is bot, not girl, cannot tie hair"

My 8 month-old Bundle of joy

little baby boy already 8 month-old now. how time flies..

didi has shown some progress in his motor skill, he can now crawl/move forward using his tummy , he will push forward with his body on the floor, but use his hands and legs to help him move forward. This is a great achivement !

When i check back my blog, missy already can stand up holding his cot when 8 month-old. so it's true that boy is slower !

He can grab toys with both hands or one hand and pass the toys from one hand to another.

His favourite games is still pee-a-boo..and he will go to whoever with food..and he starts to drink plain water more and more. Since i have stop breastmilk, so i have to start to get him to drink plain water. he refuse in the beginning, but gladly he started to accept the taste.

now, didi is drinking similac follow-on, 120ml to 180ml, with two porridge in between. we have started giving him porridge after he turned 8 month-old.

i haven been doing flash cards for didi.. got to start doing it.. been very busy with my own work-out , after the exercise, will be worn-out at night. sob

didi now, will get up at night once to drink milk. am trying to wean him off the pacifier. since he is teething, his gum might be very uncomfortable, thus, i delay it for awhile.

i buy clothes online again, this round, i got some children's clothes from gmarket. my cols keep recommending saying the price is reasonable and reliable. so i tried, i bought some korean Pjs for my two babies.and they look absolutely adorobale together ! Simply love it !

Milking my way - Part 3 - Finale

I have reduced milk pumping from 3 times last month to 2 times in last 2 weeks of September (after didi turned 7 month-old)

once in the morning before i go to work, once in the evening.

7am -730am -150ml
730-8pm - 150ml

The supply is enough for didi , since he eats rice cereal twice , and i just feed him FM at night and in the early morning.

Then, staring from october, i have then reduce the pumping to once a day (evening after i come back from work), i can see significant drop in my milk supply now,., i can only pump out most 120ml..
so it has been goin on for abt 2 weeks.. then my supply dropped further.. i can only squeeze out 50ml.. at times. only 30ml.. so pathetic.. so i pumped for the last time on Sunday (17th October)..for 50ml. didi had that in the morning, for him, it's like drink water.. cos so little.. haaa

then, i stop pumping milk. i feel somehow nostalgic over the whole experiece.. yes, it seemed like just yesterday i started the breasfeeding journey.. endure endure endure.. then once im accustomised with the routine and im fine with it.. staying at home for 4 months helped a lot too.. as my job is just to feed baby..i really appreciate the bonding time with my baby through breastfeeding..this is very very priceless..

now, i think it;s time for my little boy to depend on solid and formula milk.. mummy got to take a rest and he has to go on without meas his source of food. mm.. hind sight.. im already thinking abt travelling .. alalalalal..

I hipe the whole 8 months of breastmilk really benefit my boy and of course myself.. i feel proud of myself for al the hard work to insist on exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of my boy's life.. i also feel thankful that the support i get from home and from work.. else it wont have happen that easily ..

and one thing abt the whole experience.. my boobs which expanded to E size.. now shrink back to my A+.. sob.. but i feel myself.. the lighter me.. hahahha..
