Sometimes when i look at my lil missy, i feel so warm in the heart that my once little baby first born has grown so much now, she is like a small adult who can even join in our adult's conversation.
At times, she seems so mature but most of the times she is still acting like a 3 yo who is absorbing eagerly from what she sees/hears/feels/smells... and i find her classmates whom i met outside sometimes acted exactly like her, all still at the active/full of life stage..
During this stage, we try to instill as much positives values in her as we could. She is taught to have manners, to be polite to elderly, to talk softly and not raise her voice ( well, i din lead by example, as i still raise my voice when im angry evn to maid and she has since talk louder to maid when she is angry too.. sigh.. ), to greet others, to say excuse me when pass gas, to say lots of please and thank you..
Sat, we went to get some xmas gifts for her cousins, while waiting for me to try out some clothes, there is an elder girl who is eating bread, missy keep near to her and keep looking at the girl "hungrily" as if she is waiting for the girl to give her the bread too, then the girl's mummy saw and offer missy the bread, missy never even hesitate and took the bread and ate it. Too late to intervene and no time to intervene, i remind missy to say thank you which she did. Then, LGG and i told missy in future, if anyone offer you food, must first ask mummy's permission, cannot take and eat like that. She nod and said ok.
Yesterday, while we were playing ball and cycling at our home's playground, there came a grandma with her two grandchildren, they are holding packets of bisuits. missy rush to them and keep talking to the elder girl who is about to eat her biscuit. i call out for her, telling her that we are ready to go.. she ignored me. Then, she sits side by side with the grandma and all, waiting to be offered bisuits, expectedly, the grandma offered one piece of biscuit to missy, and i quickly action, by walking forward and tell the grandma that thanks for the bisuits but my girl cant have it. Missy is starting to throw tantrum, refuse to move, the grandma said is ok. I also said is ok. then i pull missy away, she break free of my hand and run away on the road then LGG grab her back, she then started to cry very loud, shouting and cry.. you can imagine the grandma must be thinking wat's up with this mother making the child crying like that for one biscuit?
But i wanted to use this as a lesson to teach her that she is not to accept food offered by others before asking for permission from mummy/daddy, i told her if she wants to eat, mummy/daddy /po po will buy for her. she cried and shout till we reached home and she immedietaly go to her popo.. then we told mum what happened and mum talked to her and she stop her "drama".
Ended the episode. Before sleeping, i asked her to tell me what happened in the playround, she is able to tell me what happened and she is able to say next time cannot take people's food, must ask mummy first and because mummy/daddy/popo will buy for me.. mmm. well, LGG said she may think we will definitely buy for her ? but i feel at least she learnt that she cannot take what other's offered her and must ask parents's permission first and we shall set her expectation on whether to buy for her ornot.. as now i use the excuse of eat to much bisuit will cough and need to see doctor. which she doesn't lile..
Hope lil missy has picked up this lesson and i do hope she wont jst take whatever people offer her next time.
