World flag

Mummy in SM class been sharing world flags chart that they bought from popular. I thought, hey, it may be the best time to get missy to recognise the flags. she is at her peak in LM.

So, i got the flag chart and i make them into LM format, 50 cards per sheet.

So, we shall do Flags LM for this month. Hope missy benefits from this.

Nikitin Blocks

I got the nikitin blocks for Missy in March 11. All these are late posts.

Missy is only doing it twice before we stop it.. until today (May 11) sinsei did a session of nikitin, so, i decided to revisit nikitin with missy

Writing at the age of 3 ??

I'm amzed when in witness Missy's classmate who is just one month older than her.. being able to write.. yes write number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 even 11,12,13,14,15,16... can you imagine that ? my girl can only scribble and i was so amazed when missy is able to darw circle and do cross, and zigzag lines.. but not proper writing.. as i feel 3 year old is still sucha tender age to be able to grasp the concept of writing.. as their hand muscle may still not matured as yet ??

But, i was wrong, i suppose, that her shichida classmate is abe to do this already and she was taught by her maid. i ask her maid , how she teach her to write. she said she taught for nearly 1 year already and everyday pratise kinda thing.. trace on the numbers on dotted line and slowly slowly she (Megan) just able to write.. wowo.. and her writing looks like someone who is already 5 or 6.. simply amazing !

am thinking i should start teaching didi to write by the age of two.. i missed this as i think writing should be taught only at 4 onwards.. haaa.. basically, SM is always one year in advance in the things they expect from the students.

So, on Sunday, i teach missy to write number 2.. oh well.. she is not there yet,, but i determine to continue until she is able to write..

It's an eye-opening to see how much a young toddler can do if we push their limits.. i believe i can start to form words with missy now.. since she knows all the alphebet's sound and recognise them.

I hope im not stressing her out, as i think at her age, she is having fun while play and learn and not feeling pressured.

Noddy Fun Book

Last month, i have added one more new game for missy.. which is one of the thing sold in SM. But i got it from fren who started the spree for half of the price.

The noddy fun book. It's quite fun, and it covers many topics, i have started the numbers and capital letters with missy, which she can do them (first few pages).. will continue to have fun on the noddy fun book while learning in the process.

SM: Linking Memory

We have been practising our set 2A linking memory since Monday, by playing the Tensai CD track 9 and 10 for set 2A keywords, slow and fast speed.

i let missy listen to the track 9, while she points at the picture on the card. then we play track 10. after that i let her arrange the cards, she has been doing quite well as she manage to arrange all cards ( we do only 40 cards as required by sense for this week Brain Olympic test).




The test this week is to arrange 40 cards in 3 mins..hopefully Missy will do her best and not help me suffle the cards again in class..

Missy & Maths

Last week, we did some maths with missy. using her ducky and the number puzzle, which she did quite well for number zero to four. as she got almost all correct. with some hints, she finally got all right. shall practise more, and add five to nine this week.

She is not interested in dots cards, so i guess this will make do.




now, to practise her letters, i will write A, B,C,D,randomly on her easel, ask her circle the letter i say. so far, she did fantastic job, got all right. shall add E,F,G,H this week.

Since this term no linking memory, i did flash memory with missy instead as home practise, about 4 to 5 cards. adding new cards each day. when she is paying attention, she usually canget all correct. but when she is restless, she will be insisting to get the cards from me and flash to me instead.. sigh. shall work on this more.

Sunday

Sunday, before we went to SM class, LGG grabbed his quick bite of breakie at McD. Missy is asking for his daddy's hashbrown..

On our home in train after the class, missy is playing the stickers given by her teachers.. i pasted it on her cheeks..and tell her i will show how she looks by taking her photo.. she find it amusing with the photos.. haaa..



Next time, shall bring some books for her during our train trips. she is getting harder to please now..

Shichida

We have been in shichida for 3 weeks now. Missy likes to be in the class cos she gets to mix with other kids her age.

but her concentration needs to be improved. too inquisitive and active that she simply cant ignore anything she sees, and want to interfere.. i say she is "busybody"..

anyway. she is doing ok in the class, she moves to the music.. she never even cried once in the class, she does her homework.

so, since she is adapting well.. it's my turn to work hard to do the home practise with her. shichida method is all about chil-parent bodning learning. i've been busy getting samples from forum and printed loads of them.. now got to organise them and out them into flash card.

will do ESP (extra sensory Perception) at homw with missy. Done some colour matching with her for a week now, she is able to match some, sometimes purposely put wrongly. and we have been playing some collage..

it's good to let missy expose to these activities that stimulate her right brain more. cos 0-3 years is the time their brain learn/pick up subconsciously, aka right brain learning.

AnoTher WeEkends without my little darling...

one week over le.. we felt like months.. basically, i called home everyday to hear missy's voice.. mum said she can cal papa, gong gong, popo and neh neh now.. and her daddy misses her so much that he smells her bear bear to remind him of her smell.. ohh..how we miss our little one.. days without her at home.. so quiet..

but then, this is also consider a relief time for us as parents.. we get to "enjoy" 2 weeks of just the two of us time.. i get back to cooking dinner daily.. cleaning home.. i did so much cleaning up during the weekends.. i simply cant do these with my "busybody, inquisitive" girl around.. she just so interested in everything we adults do.. we open drawer, she will come and "help" us see what's inside and even help to take things out.. duhh.. that's her.. active and inquisitive always.. well.. i think she takes after me.. heee..



I have re-arranged my living room to be children-proof . all lower racks are her toys.. and no dangerous /sharp/poison like medicine within her reach. kitchen drawer all cleared, put only things she is allowed to play or take.. bottles have to shift higher.. my wines all have to move to highest rack.. she broke my whole bottle of perfume last week, i don't want her to break my of wines so precaution has to be done *eyes rolling*..

i'm rather satiefied with my living room arrangement, all lower racks are her toys and i purposely put some basket of books and her puzzles underneath the coffee table, so that we can keep her busy while we are in living room.. haaa

Yesterday, LGG & i went "Pat-tor" hee.. weird to say this word now.. as after you have kids, it's just never be the same again, cos everything u buy surely have one thing is for your children. and at the end of the whole shopping, nothing is for me !! *sob sob*.. but LGG compensate that with doghnuts.. ok lah.. i don't need anything for the time being anyway.


Today, we went to shichida kindergarten seminar. i just want to understand how the kindergarten will be ran. Im just so impressed by their principal, Jocelyn Khoo. She is a very inspiring speaker i must said. LGG & i believe in their methods as they combine saintific research of how children brain react to certain teaching at each age group , she is so on that she involve in her own methods.. i guess i never made the wrong choice by enrolling my gurl to their weekly class.

Shall see how the weekly class goes.. if i see result, i may enrol my missy to their kindergerten nursery when she turns 3.

It is believed that learning is to help others.. not because you want to be successful. This is schichida's belief. It is rather different from what montessori approach is.
