Last day of Y2008

Tonight MUST blog about my new year resolution.. been delayibg it.. wonder why December seems soososos lazy and idle to me.. nothing seems to raise my mood.. OMG..

Yesterday night, when i (complaining in blog about how no surprises from LGG and been ignoring his sms and wishes and all the whole day..) surprised me by putting a pink care bears with lots of hearts in my bed.. ohh.. so complaining in blog does help huh !.. heee

but then, this made me feel guilty as im thinking why should i complain abt things so much that make LGG feel difficult ? im the one who said do not want to celebrate what.. well woman's hormones sometimes just hard to explain why to everything. we just hope things go out way. our wish granted .. without having to say anything upfront ?

Just a small little gesture by LGG - my little care bears- keep me happy the whole night till now.. heeee

2nd Wedding anniversary

Second year already. no celebration though. cos really don't feel like going out on weekday evening, want to play with missy.

Sometimes, i do anticipate some surprises.. but LGG is not someone who will give surprises. so, i learnt to not anticipate anything on anniversaries..sad huh ! but that's fact of life that i have to live on lor..married life is getting boring even on just the second year.

Lucky thing i have my little girl to cheer up my life !

Happy wedding anniversary to myself.. which i simply cant think of anything to feel happy about today. ? just another normal working day !

Walnut banana Cake

One cake
Ingredients:
Group 1:
Butter 200g
Caster sugar 43g
Egg yolk 107g (6 eggs)

Group 2:
Plain flour 60g
Self raising flour 60g
Baking powder 3g
Walnuts 67g ( chopped)
Bananas 2 small ( mash bananas with fork)

Group 3:
Egg White 133g (6 eggs) must be 100% free of egg yolk
Caster sugar 133g (add sugar gradually. DO NOT over beat)

Group 4:
Coffee paste (optional) mix 1 tbsp instant coffee with a little water

Two cakes
Ingredients:
Group 1:
Butter 375g
Caster sugar 80g
Egg yolk 200

Group 2:
Plain flour 125g
Self raising flour 100g
Baking powder 5g
Walnuts 125g ( chopped)
Bananas 2 medium (mash bananas with fork)

Group 3:
Egg White 250g must be 100% free of egg yolk
Caster sugar 250g add sugar gradually. DO NOT over beat

Group 4:
Coffee paste (optional) mix 1 tbsp instant coffee with a little water




Methods:
1. beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
2. add egg yolk one at a time. Beating well after each addition
3. Blend in the banana and dry ingredients carefully at low speed until well combined
4. In another bowl, beat thoroughly egg white and sugar until the mixture is soft peak, carefully fold through to the egg/flour batter
5. If desired, add in coffee paste for flavour and fragrance
6. Baking at 190 deg ZC for 50 minutes.

End of Y2008

coming to end of Y2008 already. this year has been an eventful year for me as a new mother. But, i go through each stage of my girl's growing up with anticipation, open-heart and observing.

My greatest achievement in my life so far is to have my girl. what else can i ask for ? It's about time to think of what's there for me next year. With all the mess from economy turmoil.. really dampen my mood on many things/plans.. but somehow, like my col said, our life has no significant changes yet.. so enjoy what we have now! he is right ! what's the point of worrying what's going to happen next year ? i mean few more days later..haaa

Let's flashed back what have i done for the past few weeks after i came back from my long sabatica trip home and to Mt Kinabalu trip.

I've been idling mostly.. with xmas and the year end mood.. really dont feel like doing much things except be with my girl and spent my time lying down to rest.. i feel like a pig already..

I've been going to gym for my weekly run for months now.. missed it last week partly due to bad weather.. i intend to go swimmming, but when i reach the swimming pool, it rained.. so i turned back, then i go on leave the day after until today.. so, no work out lor..

I've baked a walnut banana cake, recipe from my neighbour. yum yum.. i like it. i will bake one bigger one this week for my friend's housewarming.

Shall think of my Y2009 New year resolution soon.

Today boss is not in, he went holidays in bangkok. freeze period until jan. so we all really feel nothing much to do except for those misc stuff..that's why i can blog now.. heee..

Mt.Kinabalu Trip

We are back from my 2 weeks holidays.. my little one's 1 month's holidays.. heee..

Havent got much rest since we were back yesterday. as we have been away for some time there are so many things to unpack and all..

Today back to work, been busy since morning.. so much emails to clear and things to attend to.. sigh.. so really havent got much time to rest till now..

lazy to write to much.. just share some photos as memories..got to find time to develop these photos too..

about time for my next BIG project.. hee.. wish me luck.. hopefully by next month i have good news :)

missy really enjoy herself back home, our neighbour said she is "samseng girl" as she never stops walking/touching/digging.. so friendly and not afraid of strangers.. the boy who is 3 months older than he is so much quieter than she is.. sigh.. i really feel like im having a boy than a girl..*tomboy*

AnoTher WeEkends without my little darling...

one week over le.. we felt like months.. basically, i called home everyday to hear missy's voice.. mum said she can cal papa, gong gong, popo and neh neh now.. and her daddy misses her so much that he smells her bear bear to remind him of her smell.. ohh..how we miss our little one.. days without her at home.. so quiet..

but then, this is also consider a relief time for us as parents.. we get to "enjoy" 2 weeks of just the two of us time.. i get back to cooking dinner daily.. cleaning home.. i did so much cleaning up during the weekends.. i simply cant do these with my "busybody, inquisitive" girl around.. she just so interested in everything we adults do.. we open drawer, she will come and "help" us see what's inside and even help to take things out.. duhh.. that's her.. active and inquisitive always.. well.. i think she takes after me.. heee..



I have re-arranged my living room to be children-proof . all lower racks are her toys.. and no dangerous /sharp/poison like medicine within her reach. kitchen drawer all cleared, put only things she is allowed to play or take.. bottles have to shift higher.. my wines all have to move to highest rack.. she broke my whole bottle of perfume last week, i don't want her to break my of wines so precaution has to be done *eyes rolling*..

i'm rather satiefied with my living room arrangement, all lower racks are her toys and i purposely put some basket of books and her puzzles underneath the coffee table, so that we can keep her busy while we are in living room.. haaa

Yesterday, LGG & i went "Pat-tor" hee.. weird to say this word now.. as after you have kids, it's just never be the same again, cos everything u buy surely have one thing is for your children. and at the end of the whole shopping, nothing is for me !! *sob sob*.. but LGG compensate that with doghnuts.. ok lah.. i don't need anything for the time being anyway.


Today, we went to shichida kindergarten seminar. i just want to understand how the kindergarten will be ran. Im just so impressed by their principal, Jocelyn Khoo. She is a very inspiring speaker i must said. LGG & i believe in their methods as they combine saintific research of how children brain react to certain teaching at each age group , she is so on that she involve in her own methods.. i guess i never made the wrong choice by enrolling my gurl to their weekly class.

Shall see how the weekly class goes.. if i see result, i may enrol my missy to their kindergerten nursery when she turns 3.

It is believed that learning is to help others.. not because you want to be successful. This is schichida's belief. It is rather different from what montessori approach is.

Appraisal

One more year over.. Appraisal over means one year over in working life.. haaa.. well. shall see if everything goes well and what we put in go through smoothly.. then i shall have a good celebration in february !!!

Been busy buying toys for my gal..now i really understand the joy of buying for your loved ones.. those toys are not for me but i buy so happily :)

Miss my missy.. mum said she now if wants to go out walk walk, she will bring her shoes and ask mum to bring her out.. so cutetetette...miss her dearly :(

Cousins-Gathering

We brought little missy back home to my hometown this weekend. She seems to adapt to the new place much better than her first trip when she was 6th-month old :) she never show any sign of discomfort or in new place kinda of reaction, she just busy playing with her cousins, until she missed her naps.. missed her bed time.. first time in so many months, she slept at 10pm... her last nap was 2:30pm... the wonder of child's company..

Shall miss her till i see her again. really felt like missing something at home when i cant hear her or carry her around *sob sob*

My dear little darling.. hope she enjoys her stay with her cousins and hope she misses her mummy and daddy , just like how much we miss her..

Toys O Toys

This weekend, busy with buying toys. Bought some 3 layer puzzles, magnetic puzzles and matching puzzles for missy.. my movable alphabets have to be on hold as Jenny thinks too soon to buy.

Met Jenny and her bbay girl.. sosos cute..now i realise how much my girl has grown compare to her 4th month -old.. haaa..

We booked our class at shichida for Y2009 enrolment too. well, my "extra" pay cheque finally came in through.. heeee. so happy. i've spent it on the toys and shichida deposit+registration. and some spare for missy's arts & craft.. alallalal.. LGG happy la.. cos i never aks him to pay, since the extra money comes easily so, ok la.. use it for missy.

lalla.. this weekend, missy has light flu, running nose.. ke lian.. hope she is better before her trip back home. She never get to go anywhere cos want her to stay at home rest more.. she actually exercise walking more than sleeping..

Apprasisal sesion next week.. siann..Just give me the moneyyy !!!

Weekend activities -Nov#1

Friday the xchange rate for SG to RM is 1SGD = RM2.39 wow.. sosos good price. im looking forward to 1sdg = rm 1.4 heee.. greedy huh !

Last thursday, i noticed that sbs deducted 20cents more from normla bus fare.. i went to the counter asking for refund. Im thinking if i did not see the screen, i wouldn't have known how muhc they deduct, they transitlink system is sosos one sided towards tham than public.. we cannot even check our bus fare deduction history online, you have to be present at the control station and check. i ever wrote in and they never seem to answer what i ask.. shake head..this time round i have taken the extra deduction photo from the machine and thinking of sending to stomp.. so everyone is aware !

This sat, we went down to Toa Payoh to visit Shichida centre, which we have decided to enrol missy next april. Initially, i thought tp branch will be better as there is one direct bus from our home to TP. But the journey is sosooss long.. so we changed our plan, to enrol missy in the TJ pranch instead. heee.. so shall see if the shichida method really turn my missy into small genius huh ! at least i give her a good headstart !




Bought missy a pinwheel at TP, she loves it so much, hold on to it like magic wand and walk all over the place.. even approach an ah neh uncle.. *eyes rolling*..

Tmw shall see if RM xchange rate is good, then i shall proceed to book missy first ever flight ! Happy holidaying !

Last week, i've created one set of "colour" flash cards for missy.. am thinking should i buy Dr. Robert Titzer's DVDs.. since im taking shichida ,not sure will they clash.. still waiting for other mummies reply..

Happy Nov ! time simply fly...

First Beach trip

Sunday, we made our first trip to east coast park . Our first trip since missy was born. Been waning to expose sand to misys, well.. here's my chance.

Im a bit worried initially of how missy will react when i

let her touch the sand, as my friend said her boy somehow frighten of the sand on his feet. deep down, im rather confident missy will enjoy as after our JBCG's trip, she seems more daring than i thought ! *grinning* i prefer daring girl myself..

and, without much surprise, she blend in well with the environment, she play happily with sand, but, she refuse we bury her feet into the sand, keep pulling her feet out.. heee.. she is not happy with the sea water .. keep running away.. but after few times touchin gher feet with the waves, she is sooo eager to let the sea water flush her feet again.. the waves came so big and wet her pants all.. haaa..

We had great day watching missy enjoying herself with sand, sea water and also her walk on the sand.. she walks so much.. we tired already and she is not.. beh tahan..

Shall plan for our next trip soon..

Weekend activities -Oct #4

October is over soon.. last weekend of October.

Well, we have long weekends this week due to deepavali. for the 3 days, we simply have not much rest. go here, go there. missy have a very fun weekend too as she gets to see/explore/discover new places in new environment..Charlotte Mason's approach is to expose children to nature and different environment..



This weekend, while waiting for PIL to pick us up, missy is busy walking about.. she walks onto the grass humps.. cross over the drain.. touch the leaves..touch the floor.. nothing seems to escape from her super sharp observation.. her daddy is busy chasing her.. picture says it all.. she gets to play with real pine cone in her granny's place, these are real one picked from SF. Montessori mentioned abt pine cone as a child play, as its spikey texture is good to stimulate children's senses..well, missy has the chance at least to play with it..

Thenm of course, she gets to flip and admire her Birthday lapbook, created by her mummy *ahem*

she started to show more passion over her stuff toys like bear and her piglet, she will hug them, kiss them. when we ask her to kiss us, she will too.

As usual, i put a few big bags in my study room, for missy to dig and discover, she loves the two colourful pen where she will take and scribble.. i did not open the cap as i do not want her to mess up my room, which in montessori is not right, im suppose to let her explore and scribble as she likes in a confine area.. i shall get the big white mahjong papers ( tips from other mummies 0 and let missy play with it ..

Shall try to include more activities to missy including maing flash card for colours.. it's about time to introduce missy with various colours..

Lapbooks making

Completed my missy's two lapbooks recently. One in Sept, one in Nov.. seems like her outings is getting more frequent now.. so more to go..

I've finally mounted up my personalised notice board pickup up from "My creative family" .. i have more ideas to come.. with photos to be combine and frame it up on soft board, which is cost savings and most impotant, it's light and easier to hang.. this have to wait till i finish consolidate all the photos..




The image taken is not so good..but the actual effect is not bad. im rather satisfied.

Weekend activities -Oct #3

This weekend, we went to orchard for my shopping.. heee.. wanted to get a new handbag, but simply cant get the right one that i like instantly, either cant get the right colour or cant get the right design or darn too high price.. those i think i like usually is 200 onwards.. which i think not worth le.. ,my budget is within 100..so never get my handbag.. ended up buy one more shoes.. i bought 5 shoes altogether this week. mad mad mad..



Before we go down town, we drop by at boat quay to settle some stuff.we brought missy for a walk at boat quay. she relaly enjoy her walk.. she now insist we hold one of her hand to walk with her.. she refuse both hands.. cutey! she attracts so many ang mo tourist attentions, they keep smiling and talking to her.. haaa.. when we try to take photo, one ang mo even walk up and try to attract missy's attention so that we can take her photo.. so nice of her..

After so much things to see and walking exercise, missy refuse to be in her pram.. maybe over-stmulated, keep wanting to come down to walk or we carry her..

This weekend, we spend most of our evening at PIL's home.. missy get to play cooking and this morning, she get to drag her toys around.. her favourite now..



I've been trying to start my home montessori with missy.. reading up " how to raise an amazing child" the montessori way.. very good book with simple steps on how to get things started. Will tr to purchase montessori toys online. still waiting for my "extra" paycheque to come in this week. lalallala

Weekend activities -Oct #2

Time fliess.. second weekend of October already. Geess.. what have i done so far ? i still have many unfinished projects.. darn.. i just wish i can be motivated more to carry out than to procrastinate !

This weekend plan to get my Guess Hand bag but ended up speding most time either at PIL's or sis's home..

Missy gets to play in playground for the very first time, as i think now it's time. i try not to expose her to playground as it may not be clean. She is very 'daring' she climbs the steps.. crawl over the tunnels.. crawl up crawl down.. i go with her to thr slides, she is just smiles and no sign of fear.. OMG .. my girl is rather daring huh ! somehow i sense that after our JBCG's trip. she never even show any sign of fear at all the plays there.. 1 year old .. maybe don't know the danger of anything yet..shall see


Sunday, we revisit her swimming at home. once i put her in, shejust splash and kick and splah and kick.. full of energy. and one of the photo i find it so amusing. after changing her into her swim suit which she seems to fit it better now, she just walks about in the house while waiting for the pool to be filled up. She walks and stop at the mirror in the living room, and i happened to snap one of her photo. see.. not a bad pose huh ! but her hair really cannot make it ! ghaa.. like just wake up like that. we are keeping her hait long, so have to bear with the half length now..



Sunday went to sis's place. brought back some of the carpets left there last time. thought it'll be good now as missy can play in those carpetted area. Montessori mentioned that children should have a define area for play. so i shall start montessori at home.

As for the playgroup. dunno waht to say. those mummies who initially showed so much interested but when we said ok, can we start this weekend? no news at all. no email reply, no sms. well. i dont like to force people. and i don't think playgroup should start with mummies who is not serious. Thus, i never contact them again.

anyway, i will keep looking for interested mummies to start a playgroup on weekends. missy still have plenty of time till we form a playgroup. Playgroup is beneficial to toddler from age 3 onwards. Montessori prefer a mixture young and small.

Home Injury #2

Missy injured her tongue 3 days back. She is chasing her colourful ball.. happily playing and when she is trying to kiss the ball ( her favourite action now ), she lean down to kiss the ball and her hands somehow slip open and the ball rolled away,so her lips knocked onto the floor.. her teeth pierce through her tongue.. somehow i think she stick her tongue out while trying to kiss the ball ( french kiss ??)

and hualahuala.. she cried so loud.. so much blood + saliva..+ tears.. o =nto her PJs. sob..

yesterday we finaly can see the wound clearly, the portion that was injured swell up. she can feel something like one lumo so she keep sticking her tongue out.

Luckily thing she still feeding /eating like normal. Thus, we never see doc. mum said saliva has healing power, it will heal by itself.

Sob.. pray for my girl's wellness.. she is really active girl.. like never stop moving about and.. injuring herself..

Flash me More - progress

After i added few more new words - body parts for my missy, she is picking up three more new words.

She now knows "mouth", "hand" & "ear"

my itsy-bitsy is getting back some result too.. now whenever i recite itsy-bitsy, she will start to move her fingers trying to imitate me..

My progress

Gees.. i still cant get rid of coffee.. still one cup per day.. fail to stop. i've go to stop by december. my aim.

and my exercise regime is progressing well. i hit the gym once a week and yoga once a week.

I'm left with 3.3 kg to lose.. muahaha.. i've lost that 0.x kg in 2 weeks.. well.. better than nothing huh

I've done my lady body checkup (every 2 years) , report will be sent to me in 2 weeks time. I feel good. so, i guess nothing will be wrong ? * touch wood*

k.. now, im still waiting for my "extra pay cheque" to come in.. mm.. one month already wor..
